Why? John and Paul had reconciled the year before! They (John and Paul) had a studio jam session with Moonie, Nilsson, Stevie Wonder and friends which was recorded and released as a bootleg album. They continued to catch up before John's death.

He said he managed to get an invite to the Grammy Awards one year in the 1970s. So he goes into the men's room and immediately gets hit with a cloud of pot smoke. Someone else in there says, "Smells like someone is having a good time." Then one of the stall doors swings open and out comes Art Garfunkel, with the goofiest grin on his face, says "Hi", and walks out. Who knows, maybe it was this Grammy awards.

They weren't comedy interns, they were professionals whose bits as written were killing in the house, but no star of that caliber was required to do them. And there's nothing ironic about talented stars doing material written by others, it's a pretty integral and normal swath of show business. Otherwise, you nailed it.

John has this image for being the heavy, radical, tough Beatle, but after 1975 he was so funny, happy and chilled in everything he did! I love this John, a really sweet and gentle man who wore his stardom and genius lightly. I can't believe the eighties, and every decade since, had to go ahead without him. The whole world was robbed of so much by one inadequate little prick who wasn't fit to shine his shoes.

Let It Be Naked before Phil Spectre got a hold of it is like The Beatles getting back to basics, this was McCartney's intent when he he wrote Get Back. Yeah I really like a lot of Wings stuff. Especially "Band On The Run", "Venus and Mars" which is a very under rated album in my opinion. The reporter is asking sensible questions yet both were giving condescending sarcastic replies. John mostly. They were being polite but there was no need for it. I understand that the press can be irksome, and they do ask inane questions at times, but it was almost like there was subtle bullying going on. I can assure you that there was nothing humourous about their behaviour. It actually made me a little angry. The reporter was just doing his job.

@@essessessesq it’s because the Grammys don’t take into account anything pre 1958 so that’s basically Elvis’s most successful and important 2 years (1956-57) out of the Equation he received 14 nominations in his career but only won 3

@MIRobin22 Pretty much. But I think more specifically, when Paul asked "when are you guys getting back together?" about John and Art, he made the Linda joke as if to say Art was Paul in that situation. But it didn't get the laugh he was expecting, which is why he said it was too subtle.

I remember everyone of those tunes....what talented songwriters and performers we had.... Two of the greatest joined by another....as the Trinity walks of stage...the 3 Men I admire most.....What fantastic Women we had as Artists.....it seems they had the boys beat out on this award....Rightfully so...Im still in love with Olivia!!!.....That song screwed me up....Im not tryin to make you feel uncomfortable.....Im not tryin to make you anything at all.....but this feeling doesnt come along everyday.....thanks for the memories.....
