17th Street Raised Cycle Track (Courtenay, BC - July 2024)

A bicycle ride on the 17th Street raised cycle track in Courtenay, BC (July 2024). Highlights include a raised cycle track, new sidewalk, crosswalks, new trees, updated paint markings and a connection to a multi-use pathway.
Our ride begins by connecting to the 17th Street raised cycle track from the Rotary Trail. You can also walk or roll Northbound on the Rotary Trail to connect to another raised cycle track on 5th Street.
Riding Eastbound on a raised cycle track towards Fitzgerald Avenue we pass two crosswalks with rapid flashing lights, a new sidewalk and updated paint markings. We also see newly planted trees in the boulevard. Our Eastbound ride ends at Fitzgerald Avenue, where we turn around and ride Westbound to the end of the bike lane at the Rotary Trail.
