The average scammer made an average of $624 a year. That’s $12 a week. That doesn’t even cover 2 of her fingernails getting done at the nail place. She knew all this and didn’t care. Because thrive was her 9th or 10th MLM/pyramid scam. So she knew she wouldn’t make any money from it. But in the back of her mind was “well, if I don’t make any money with this one, I’ll always have Chris’s money to fall back on”. So yeah, that was Chris’s money she used to put $27,000 worth of thrive in her basement. It was Chris’s name on the Lexus because her credit was shit. Chris had excellent credit until he married her. She had them in bankruptcy less than 2 years after they said “I do”. So yeah, you’re right. Her career of pyramid scams made everyone around her suffer. And broke.

That said, her parents knew she filed bankruptcy - my dear old Mum now passed would have been on my case ! Addy Maloney, her upline leader told police she would have made next to nothing in her first 2 years - she started Thrive in Jan 16 and had her life taken in Aug 18. So as a full time job she was bringing in fresh air to the household with outrageous living expenses. Please don't misunderstand me I am criticising MLMs as much as anything for the financial falsehoods they promote, rather than Shan'ann herself. Although she was sharp enough, I think she wanted the dream get rich quick lifestyle that she blatantly could neither afford or attain through Thrive. The lesson learned is to avoid MLM like the plague however the irony is that Nickole Atkinson has done extremely well on the back of Shan'ann's untimely death with tons of new customers flooding in - rather than seeing the reality that this appalling money trap was part of the tragedy. From everything I have read about this case, Chris was caught up in lust for his girlfriend, & didn't want his family anymore, he wanted to be free financially to go live the life he wanted with her. They are both disgusting. Chris is getting what he deserves, life in max security prison w no parole. Anyone who could do something like what he did is an awful person. Just before her murder they were getting ready to file their second bankruptcy in less than 3 years, this would've been SW's third bankruptcy. There was over $20,000 of thrive products packed away in the basement, if any one month she didn't meet her sales and recruitment quota, she would lose her 'car payment bonus' permanently and therefore be responsible fir the remainder of the lease for the Lexus. She was living in a fantasy world, all of it was a lie. Just because she was murdered along with her poor babies in no way erases the fact thar she caused some extreme problems in her marriage but if you read some of her texts with her friends, she constantly blames CW for their crumbling marriage, she was angry because he was cold, distant, didn't talk to her....never once did she admit her faults. She constantly deflected her failures onto CW. when in reality she was just as much, and maybe a little more, to blame for the problems in their marriage. People are discovering that the perfect family portrait that SW was portraying to the world was all a bald face lie. Personally, I believe CW should've been given the DP, but, it wasn't up to me.
