Beef taco hamburger helper for the win! 😂

As a young child during the 70's I loved many of these items. Space Food Sticks were one of my favorites. TV dinners were actually a treat as my Mom would usually cook everyday. The allure of the TV dinner to me was I felt I was camping for some reason. Today I make my own TV dinners for my family. I have some plastic trays with dividers, but fill it with homemade food items. This is the time when the kids and the whole family sit together and watch TV on TV trays. We limit TV time, so they love it, we get to spend time together and since we normally eat at the table, being able to eat in front of the TV is a special treat to them. I like it too.

@drphibesrises That sounds like a wonderful and nostalgic tradition! Creating your own version of TV dinners with homemade food must make the experience even more special for your family.💕

I have so much faves on this list made from the 70's that made up my childhood from the 80's and 90's, pop rocks, Reese pieces, tv dinners, and of course black forest cakes. I am glad the myth of combining pop rocks and coca cola that makes your stomach explode is not true
@BabbleTop11 ай бұрын
@Koleyl Your sentiment is spot on! The joy of pop rocks, Reese's Pieces, TV dinners, and black forest cakes bridges the gap between the 70s and the cherished 80s and 90s.👍🏻

Right! My friends and I were all scared as kids to try that ‘deadly’ combination. 😂

I remember when hamburger helper had a meatloaf, it had no pasta, but I thought it was really good as a child was cheap enough for my dad to make. Pretty sure it was probably discontinued in the early 80s.

I sure miss those Hungry Man dinners that we'd get every once in awhile. As far as Hamburger Helper, I can still tear up summa that stuff. Who remembers Randy Quaid telling Chevy Chase ( aka Clark W. Griswold ) "Clark, I don't know why they call it Hamburger Helper, it does just fine on it's own..."

Space Food Sticks came out in the 60s. You can make homemade pudding pops, if you have popcicle molds. TV Dinners came out in the 50s. The sixties, thanks to Julia Child. Casseroles were a fifties thing. If I make it, it will be a six layer salad, as I would leave out the peas

Pineapple doesn't belong on pizza...it just goes against the laws of nature. Black olives and mushrooms on the other hand should be mandatory pizza toppings however.
