#18 Philippines Beach House Finished in 8 Months! | Farm Tour

We finally finished construction of our beach house last August 2022, after 8 months! In this video, you'll see how we built the house from late June to mid-August 2022, using available materials (mostly) available in Northern Samar. The beach house is perfect for a second home, to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Most shots during construction were taken by my 80-year old camera man, my dad :) He and Mamsy visited the farm whenever possible, to help document the progress. Next up will be landscaping work, I hope you'll tune in for that as well.

Hi! Just found your channel and immediately subscribed. Learning a lot from your journey since we have a similar lot in Quezon province though yours seems to have a bigger frontage. Question… noticed that you only got electricity quite almost at the end of the construction. How did they manage to build the house? We have the same dilemma since we don’t have water and electricity in our lot yet. Looking fwd to your reply. I am sure I will ask more questions in the next videos hehehe

The contractor had a generator. But in instances when a generator will not do, we actually had to get electricity from a neighbor through a very long extension cord. Haha. I suggest you check how strict your electric company is. In our place, if you don’t have a building permit and plans, they don’t approve your application for connection.

Really, really, really ove this place! From the beach farm concept to the steps going up to those windows to let in the fresh air to the deck/porch and the palm trees .... I could go on and on.... It's really amazing! Congratulations! May I ask you how much invested in just the house Po?

Thank you. I think the cost will vary depending on the area in the Philippines, materials used and if you use a contractor or self build. But the house itself is small, only about 50sqm. The balcony is about 25sqm.

Thank you, building the house was a dream for us, and we’re happy we were able to make the dream come true this year. And yes, it’s a tradition in the family, and in our province, to have a new house blessed. It was only after I uploaded that I realized that maybe I should have put a caption in that portion to say that it’s for the house blessing (for those unfamiliar). I’m glad you caught it. while the decision to go small was also due to budget constraints, it turned out well in the end, as the house is easier to maintain and keep clean. Haha.

Yes, they are! The initial design was for rain chains, but our architect decided otherwise after taking into account the strong winds, rainy season (and frequent typhoons) in Northern Samar, plus the proximity to the sea.

At the time of construction, we didn’t know of any solar panel supplier here. We’ll study when supply and support are more prevalent.
