Hey Love! Aww how exciting! Your question makes absolutely sense! I started them with two strands straight from the scalp and then I palm rolled roughly every 6-8 weeks to begin forming my new growth into locs. I hope that made sense 😅 If you start with a braid you will have a different texture at the root. If you find it difficult to loc consider crocheting or instant loc'n your hair! 🌝
