just an add on, pee after masturbation as well, shaving sideways down there is best to prevent ingrowns and razor bumps while still getting a good shave, and clue is a great period tracker

Yes! :D I have been using Clue for quite a while and I LOVE that it sends you notifications! The shaving sideways thing was something I discovered by accident when I realized that shaving "against the grains" was really uncomfortable. Peeing after masturbation is something I've always done because I have to go wash my hands anyway, and also (sorry for the TMI here) because I find having a not-quite-empty bladder makes it easier to get aroused... Not sure if it puts pressure on something or whatever, but that's how I've done it since I was a little girl just entering puberty, haha

Two years ago when I was pregnant a Jamacan women suggested that I use coconut oil on My breast and if My labia or vagina was feeling dry. Now I use organic coconut oil for everything. I mix up a weeks worth of coconut oil and fine salt to lightly clean My labia area. But it is a great hydrator in the winter months so I use it as body lotion.

I just found out how great coconut oil is for down there. Coconut oil and a couple drops of tea tree oil is safe for curing yeast infections (as long as you've had one before. If not, see a doctor first). Cured it in two days whereas it normally takes a week for me on antifungals from the doctor.

Mae Wyles I never said anything about cleaning vaginas with products. I simply highlighted something that one of the girls said because I thought it was quite funny and it actually contradicted their own advice later on in the video.

My Vajayjay Tip is to use organic coconut oil to shave in place of shaving cream. Chemical free, smells yummy, and I never have irritation after shaving, and if I ever do its always very little. Try it, I guarantee you'll never go back.

If you're really sensitive down there, or just an all-natural babe, it's really good and safe to use virgin coconut oil or extra virgin Olive Oil (the real stuff if you can afford it - there's a lot of olive oil scams out there, now - cheapest I've heard of is California Ranch) as a moisturizer.

I think when talking about vaginas being self cleaning, it's VERY important to clarify that the vagina is the tunnel where your tampon, for example, would go. The vagina is self cleaning but the vulva, which is the area outside the vagina, where you do sweat and hair grows, is not self cleaning and needs to be washed regularly with plain soap and water and a fresh washcloth or just your bare hands. Too many women and girls think the vagina is the entire thing and so when they hear self cleaning, they think they don't have to wash at all.

Thank you ladies for not acting all embarrassed. KZbinrs and other informational video hostesses or lecturers acting embarrassed makes a big impact on young ladies- no matter how much they say there's nothing to be embarrassed about they don't act like it (giggling, hesitance to say certain words, etc) and young women especially pick up on that. Respect!

I raised my daughter, 26, with your info! Back when I grew up, it seemed every lady used douches! I hated it and became irritated! I found that we ladies were created with vagina's that, on the inside, are "self cleaning". Another thing, especially for little girls, one may like to abstain from bubble baths for her as it also can cause problems for some girls/women! If you are a lady that has to relax in her bubble bath, then after, just stand up and turn on the shower to rinse the lady well! My daughter has never had the issues I used to have! I'm glad I taught her the correct things! Thank you ladies for making your video, as not all girls are raised with this info because, unfortunately and oddly, some of it is STILL taboo to talk about!

a change in discharge *sometimes* isn't a bad thing. for some people, when they're ovulating, their discharge can increase and get more watery/creamy and more white. so it's not necessarily a bad thing sometimes. but if it does have a strong smell, and a greenish tint to it, then you might have an infection.

Washing the pubes (at the front) with soap is okay but underneath or inside = NO SOAP! I used to always wash with soap but then I was advised not to about 6 months ago and I have never felt cleaner. It takes a week or two for the vag to rebalance after years of soaping but once she gets over herself, she works as she's meant to :)

From a dietitian side I can add cutting down intake of sugar (more sugar is a higher chance of infections, especially yeast ones) and I recommend eating more fermented foods, for example drinking kefir for better bacterial flora. You can also take pills with good bacteria or use vaginal probiotics with Lactobacillus acidophilus :) Especially after antibiotic treatment!

I think what they mean by using soap is that it's important to wash the outer parts of your downstairs with mild soap so you can get all the sweat and other dried discharges out of there. But don't go near holes with that soap. You don't want any of that soap inside of you, trust me it can cause lot of problems.

A douche is a device that is inserted into the vagina that allows you to squirt water up there in order to "clean" it. However, douching can be bad because it can force bacteria further up into the vagina, and also it can throw off your natural PH balance like they said in the video.

Where do you live?? In the United States you can get stick on heat pads in any grocery store, Wal-Mart, Target, or drug store in the feminine health section. They have a peel off back that you stick on the outside of your underwear. That is how I got through high school and college. ;)

I agree with Pinky Pirate. Other than that - since it obviously wasn't hacks - you should have mentioned that shaving "down there" isn't for health benefits - it's fashion.

I have a problem with shaving, whenever I haven't shaved in a while everything goes fine. However if I just want to get rid of a little stubble everything starts bleeding and it gets all swollen. I use a sharp razor and plenty of shaving cream. Am I doing something wrong? When the hairs are longer the shaving goes fine, it's only short hair.

snoko2 I have this exact problem too, I've heard most women have this same problem. I've noticed that it's not AS much of a problem when I shave after soaking in the bath for 15 or so minutes because it softens the hair. There are also products, usually oils that are supposed to cause there to be less irritation. Personally it seems like I get far less irritation on my labia and can shave much more frequently there without getting those little bumps than on my pubic mound. Really I think the best thing to prevent this is to shave the labia every other day or whenever you 'need' to get rid of stubble if you have less problems with razor burn etc in that area and to only shave the pubic mound once a week or every other week. I've gotten to the point where I only shave my labia and the sides and very top of my 'bikini' area and just trim the rest. I used to be very self conscious about whether my partner disliked me not being completely shaved down there but now I've realized it's really what feels comfortable for me and that most people don't mind there being a little hair usually just preferring the labia to be shaved and everything else to be a little trimmed. That being said the most important thing is for YOU to be comfortable physically and learning to not be embarrassed about your natural pubic hair. I hope this helps! There are also a lot of tips or tutorials you can find by googling that might help.

abb9987 Thankyou! I didn't know this was so common. I'm confident about my body hair, I used to never shave and just trim in that area. However my partner really likes it completely shaven and sometimes I like to surprise him. I don't always do it, and he doesn't mind that either. I was just wondering wether something could be done about it because I assumed I would be doing something wrong since it's bleeding so often. But thankyou for your answer I will try out your tips.

I find that using a fragrance free hair conditioner not a shave gel while shaving helps and then an unscented deodorant after, on the particularly sensitive areas works flawlessly!!

For some girls it can take up to 4 or 5 years to have a regular cycle. Don't worry about it until you're done with puberty (usually between 16 and 18 for girls), your hormones are still figuring things out xD Some girls, like me, didn't naturally fall into a regular cycle so I had to go onto the pill. As far as I read some women only develop a regular cycle in their 20's.

Tampons are pretty safe from my experience. I also use a panty liner just in case for heavy flow days. Just make sure change them every four hours minimum or less if you have a heavier flow. You can keep them in longer but it isnt recommended, just like wearing a pad for more than four hours isn't recommended.

What ever you do don't squeeze it. Bc any liquid like puss or something that is behind it will go into the area which may cause infection. I normally sit in the bath/shower and get a towel or something and rub it so it breaks the end of it which makes it easier to get the hair. Hope this helps x
