Small train . In inda our passenger trains like rajdhani etc are almost three times longer than talgo. May be suitable for day time running between two short to medium distance cities and can give one step up alternate for long distance local trains .

The Talgos running in this videos are Spanish. They got the Spanish colors and their Spanish wagon numbers. By the way, Talgo means Tren Ligero Goicoechea Oriol. (Goicoechea Oriol Light Train) Goicoechea and Oriol are the surnames of the two inventors and confounders of Talgo.

*PROOF of 180 kmph speed* _PROOF 1_ Locomotive crossed a road crossing at approximately 1:10 mark Locomotive crossed start of platform on the opposite side at around 1:16 mark Approximate time taken (measured using stopwatch) = 6 second. Approximate distance measured from google maps = 300 metres. so approx. speed = 300m/6 sec = 50 metres/second = 180 kmph _PROOF 2_ Using Doppler Effect. Frequency measured using Fourier spectral analysis of audio. The horn's pitch when train is coming closer = 549 Hz The same peak when train is moving away = 414 Hz Approx. speed of sound at 40 Celsius = 354 metre per second. So speed of train = 3.6*354/((549+414)/(549-414)) kmph = 179.7 kmph = approx. 180 kmph. So the Talgo is indeed going at approx. 180 kmph.

@@Frommirrorworld Talgo, S.A. continues to have a commercial office in India, as it does in other Asian countries. The experience of the Spanish manufacturer is not limited only to the construction of light articulated trains. The Indian government seems to be not satisfied with the 80 years of experience of Talgo. The Talgo was travelling at 200 kilometres per hour in 1958, when steam locomotives did not exceed 150 km/h were still in circulation in India. Nor is the circulation of Talgo trains to full satisfaction in countries such as Germany, Denmark, Holland, Bosnia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Egypt, the United States, Saudi Arabia... as well as in Spain.

It's not very common for Indian stations and tracks to be this dirty these days....I hope this station Sholaka is amongst the few exceptions.. God, we Indians have so much to learn when it comes to basic manners, etiquette and maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings....

Sadly no Talgo trains for India. May be they are too weak, since they are made with Aluminium and not steel sheets like our regular trains.

WAP-5 is India's fastest and most track friendly locomotive and is capable of 200 km/hr and does 160 km/hr everyday with the Gatimaan express. My guess is that IR did not have WAP5s to spare for the tests and so used a WDP4. Now a days most WDPs hauling express trains are WDP4B or WDP4D both of which are derived from the WDG4 freight loco and have a Co-Co wheel arrangement. These can haul heavier loads ( read .. our 24 coach mail expresses ) at a more moderate max speed of around 110-130 kmph. A WDP4 in contrast is built as a passenger locomotive and has a Bo1-1Bo wheel arrangement which means it can do higher max speeds with a lower load without putting too much load on the tracks. However since the Bhopal Shatabdi and Gatimaan are WAP5 hauled and the rest of the mail-expresses including the Rajdhanis and Durontos have more moderate top speeds ( 110 - 130 km/hr ) , they will generally use a WDP4B or WDP4D or a WAP7 which are better suited for heavy hauls at moderate speeds. This leaves IR with a fair number of WDP4s lying spare which can be used for high speed tests . WAP7s too are derived from the WAG9 freight locomotive and have a C0-C0 wheel arrangement and are certified for 140 kmph only. Beyond that they are too harsh on the tracks. Thus for speeds greater than 140 kmph IR has only two options .. WDP4 or WAP5. WAP5 has partially suspended traction motors which drastically reduces unsprung mass making it the most track friendly locomotive at high speeds. It has been tested by IR at 184 km/hr. WDP4 is a great locomotive as well, but IR doesnt seem to have a need for a high speed diesel locomotive and so it is available for trials. This is just my two bit. Someone can correct me if Iam wrong.

I think Talgo is better than Bullet/shinkansen trains,Bcz it's not costly like Bullet, heard also that there coach is also light in weight than Bullet.and to all those people saying"train passing through garbages"; the people should change ownselfs first, work off and then say that .

Talgo is a different type of set that can be tailored to Very Highspeed just like the French TGV or the Japanese Shinkansen. You can have true Highspeed Talgo units like the Talgo 350 or the Talgo Avril and invest just as much as the other mentioned solutions. The solution proposed to India is a Talgo Tilting Passenger Consist, that hooks up to a normal locomotive and can run faster than conventional trains on the same network, for a lower price than an Alstom Pendolino Unit. (Search for this last train if you don't know what it is). Four of the main advantages of these Talgo units is that these have: - Passive tilting system, which allows the train to take corners faster without sacrificing passenger comfort; - Variable Gauge Axles, which allow the train to run on either Broad Gauge or Standard Gauge by just going through an "Intercambiador Talgo"; - Lighter, lower frame, which allows a lower rate of wear and tear of the railway infrastructure, while requiring less movable parts; - A single, shared axle between carriages, that allows the wheels to be tangent to the rail at all times, reducing wear of the flange; The main disadvantages of this system are: - The consist is indeformable, which means that the number of cars is set. One cannot couple or uncouple two or three cars, but can only couple a full consist to double the number of cars, meaning that services with lower amount of passengers will run with trains that are the same length whatsoever; - This is not a true Highspeed solution, but a slower get around. The train depends on the locomotive that pushes it and the quality and characteristics of the infrastructure to run fast. While a Talgo 350, Shinkansen or TGV can run at 300km/h to 380km/h on a newly built network, these Talgo Passenger consist normally don't run faster than 220km/h. And I'm assuming India has locomotives that run that fast, at least!
