The death of Mazinger in the film was the best one. Koji knows he is going to a death battle he cant win, and tries his hardest despiste being out numbered and weakened. Just as he is being electrocuted along Mazinger, Great appears and proceds to avenge him.

@@BlitzkriegOmega and then there's also the 7 black boxes the Mazinger Z has. imagine even 3 of those boxes opened the enemies in episode 1 are gonna be terrified. and if i remember the 7 boxes abilities ranges from regeneration,absorption, reinforcing/adapting, perfect precognition,Creation from nothing, Reality manipulation and Finallly Metamorphosis in which Z turns to Zero. and the scary thing is that all Mazinger Z's has a potential to become one and fortunately and unfortunately the one in Grendizer U doesn't seem to have one.

Nah, Mazinger Z is absolutely invincible. It just needs the upgrades it didn't get over the years. It's already remarkable that it still managed to take down some enemies despite being outnumbered and outmatched consistently

Mazinger Z doesn't die. it just get's thrashed for a bit but come's back a lot stronger. and in worst case scenario after it get's thrashed it turns into Zero and everyone is gonna get them Rocket punches.

Man seeing Shin's version of Mazinger Z makes me really sad we couldn't get one for Great too. Like if Z's signature attack is his Photon Beam and Rocket Punch, especially his rocket punch, where he literally turns into Zeus' fist. I imagine Great, not only having Thunder cuz Zeus, but by using Great Booster he turns into Zeus' Sword. Considering Great's identity is with his Mazinger Blade and, Thunder Break

I’m noticing a theme. Most of the time when Mazinger Z is defeated/destroyed, it’s usually due to either being completely outnumbered our due to the enemy being typically stronger…. A lot of the time both.

mostly both but in the infinity movie, he got jumped on by an entire army of mechanical beasts and suffered zero damage. that is until he fought dr.hell who used a combination of an electrical attack that turned new Super Alloy Z brittle then blasted him with acid bubbles. that melted the weakened parts.

5:26 If this is going to be referenced next episode to foreshadow Mazinger's return, it'll be so funny. I think the saddest ones here were the TV EP 92 and Shin EP 2 versions. Kouji doesn't even land a single hit in the TV version of the OVA and pretty much acts like a punching bag for the Battle Beasts. Thankfully the OVA version gave him a much better last stand, being able to take down some Battle Beasts prior to that and was only taken down by sheer numbers and weaponry that could destroy Super Alloy Z. He even wins a 1v1 with Great's sword by aiming for the Battle Beast's weakpoint. Shin EP 2 is sad when you see the rest of the series. He is given the power to become Zeus's right hand, uses everything he has to defeat Doctor Hell, and literally seconds later, a new enemy appears because of his victory and he gets obliterated by The Great General of Darkness. It's really sad to see the God Scrander destroyed like that. I really wish we got Shin Great to follow up on this... A follow up to this should be all the times Tetsuya jobs as well. His recent track record is even worse IMO; Kouji loses, but comes back stronger in Z or in Kaiser, but Tetsuya isn't as fortunate. He gets one-upped by Kouji in his own television series's finale, loses to berserk Mazinkaiser in the OVA and disappears for a long time, is captured in Infinity, and gets Great Mazinkaiser in the Shin Zero manga, just to get obliterated two chapters later. He's the awkward middle sibling in the three Mazin series and is the only one without a remake anime.

Tbf, Great has a way better track record across all media, Mazinger gets damaged constantly in any series it's in, even if it wins in the end. By contrast, it's really rare to see great get damaged in any capacity in their own series or corssovers(except Mazinkaiser or Zero, him getting replaced is kinda the point there).

Koji left with Mazinger head Amuro left with headless Gundam (before he abandoning it and left with Core Fighter to escape from A Baoa Qu) Ryoma on other hand... Repaired his Getter after crashes on moon and returned as Black Getter (Ryoma definitely built different)

Well, if you decapitate the Gundam Amuro Is still safe, not so much for Koji. Mazinger Z Is safer for the pilot, First of all Koji doesn't have to sit tight next to the reactor, and second, if all goes to shit ejecting with the pilder Is easier Is far quicker and safer than opening the RX78 in half to let the core fighter get away.

「UFOロボグレンダイザー」作品中にマジンガーZを出さなかったのは「凄いなぁ～なかなかできないことだなぁ」と幼い自分にとって感心したものでした。マジンガーZの物語は「グレートマジンガー」で一応の完結となったわけですからね。その後、東映まんがまつりでマジンガーシリーズも登場する劇場作品がいくつか公開されましたが、そこでもマジンガーZの活躍はありませんでした。それでいいんです。マジンガーZは十分戦ったんですよ。

Mazinger Z, fights to the end and always come back stronger. I really liked the new Grendizer show. To be fair it was a very early/concept Mazinger that was defeated. This is Duke/Grendizers story, but it would be awesome if Mazinkaiser showed up in the last episode to team up with Grendizer.

It’s losses like this why I want a mecha sequel where instead of having the old mech get destroyed and have the new one swoop in and get all the glory, either the old mech gets placed in a museum or the pilot gets a vacation but the old mech is too specialised towards its pilot I just want the mech to get peacefully retired before getting wheeled out in the finale with cool upgrades to team up with the new mech to defeat the villain

@@wppy nope, but it get's repaired and upgraded. the whole turning into an Eldritch god though that is from the Shin Mazinger Z manga. in where Mazinger Z has the potential to turn into Mazinger Zero due to certain scenarios. Getting thrashed by a more powerful enemies Zero awakens. Great Mazinger appears nope Zero despises Great and it's pilot that it tried to completely erase them from all realities. along with other mecha series including Grendizer. Koji falling into despair, Zero takes over and uses him as a processor.

Is possible, in the infinitisim novels grendizer great mazinger mazinkaiser and mazinkaiser skl fight Mazinger Zero. In that story Great Mazinger is using the Double Spazer to fight in space so it would be a nice reference to it.@@emmetfeely7760
