The problem I have with the tail is a kind of kick or twitch. It's not a wag. Most of the time it is in a stable hover, but every so often the tail will step out a few degrees and quickly go back to where it was. Almost like someone pushed on the tail and the heli corrected instantly except no wind and no control inputs. I suspect that it's minor changes in the resistance of the tail drive train and hopefully it will improve as the parts break in.

FIXED: It turned out that the Gyro gain was not being outputted by my DX9 on channel 5. I verified this on the monitor screen This was definitely some kind of glitch for sure as I totally lost the ability to assign the Gyro to the Gear channel of the receiver. So weird. Anyway, I purged that model and start from a fresh setup then re-binded. Now the tail is holding great; it flies very very well! Thanks to everyone who watched my video and commented. Hopefully, others will benefit from this.

+Hal Staniloff thank for the video! Did the output monitor show the gear channel as outputting 75? Mine does the same but on the DX8 it shows 75 in the monitor^^ Thanks!

Yes I have updated the firmware. I even downloaded the 180 CFx settings from the website and this seems to be even worst. For some reason I am not seeing any difference when the gains are adjusted. I have also installed the O-rings for better stability.

Laurie Benjamin Try deleting your model and starting over by manually programming up and binding a new model. If that doesn't help, then call HH Tech Support as I am sure they will be able to help you.

I had the same problem with my trex 600 and it turned out to be the their was not enough clearence on 1 of my tail blade grips even though everything looked and felt good it was not i had to file alittle of the tail rotor hub where the blade grip slides on and it fixed it so i would recommend you to check and make shure your tail blade grips are not to tight like i said mine looked good and they felt good to me but soon as i go into a hover my tail would not act right i did what i explained to you and i have full tail control and no more wishwash back and forth hope this helps u

No. My tail servo is fine. But a buddy of mine had his tail servo go on him after several flights. He called HH and they sent him a new one.

Good video however I am seeing the gains being adjusted on the dx9 but no changes during flight. I have it set on gear/ ch 5. Did I miss something. I also realized that you menu layout that you show to us is quite different on mine. Do you mind sharing your setup for gyro from the beginning. Thanks again

Make sure you are using the latest version of the DX9 firmware.

My 180 does this with my 6i. I programmed it just like the manual said. Any advice on what settings to change on the 6i to correct this?

Rebind the model and verify output on the gyro channel. Else, delete the model and start over. If you are still having trouble, then call Horizon Hobby tech support.

That's one of them problems that would drive you nuts when everything's pointing to the gyro calibration.

There was no output on the GYR channel in the monitor menu. Looks like I have a channel assignment issue in my radio as the gyro channel is not showing up in my GEAR channel assignment as an option. So the receiver was not receiving any gyro gain. I'm still not convinced that my RX doesn't have a problem, but will continue testing by creating a new model and starting over.
