I'm sure someone will attempt it solo so at some point we will hear what they think. I will be playing it solo to learn it as usual, but certainly it will need to be played opposed to really understand it.

Can't speak for the complexity, but I think the rulebook is good and helps a lot. Too many games have rulebooks that fight you. And I am quite happy with this. Vuca has been doing some cool things and I wanted to support a cool new European publisher, I just hadn't had too much interest in their previous offerings. Now they have this and a few other things in the pipeline that really strike my fancy. Just to fill in a few blanks. The blocks are there for hidden orders. The Screens are to hide the troops that the leaders are commanding.

Thanks for the info! The hidden orders are clearly what make it less suitable for solo play. So far I've enjoyed what I've played from them (Operation Theseus and Task Force). This one is a whole new direction.

Oh, and the custom die are for weather. One for Summer and one for Winter. Yup, they have some cool stuff. Just hasn't been for me. What I played of traces of war was neat but I also wasn't enamoured. I am really curious to see how Seminal Catastrophe turns out.

I see 1-2p label on the box (0:42 time) but I can't find any rules how to play it solo? is it incorrect info or is it possible to play this game solo?

I don't think there are any solo-specific rules. Like many wargames, I'm guessing the publisher realizes that a certain percentage of users will want to play solo, even if it means playing both sides without any special rules or solo "bot". That's definitely how I do it, I play many 2 player games solo while I'm learning them. That said, while I did play this game solo to learn it, it's not a great solo experience in that there is a lot of hidden info.
