My Dad was stationed in Pampa and this brings a lump in my throat everytime I watch this video but I love it and have to watch it often.

When I feel that Texas is losing its way, I come back to this video. As a photographer, it inspires me to get out there and photograph a state that is quickly becoming homogenized as just another state, a state that is rapidly losing its uniqueness and identity. Thanks, Wyman and Doug (RIP), you left us too soon.

What does this mean, exactly? What "identity" do you feel Texas used to have that is going away? Just curious.

Every time I get a little homesick, I always come back to this video. It's by far the best medicine. The music and the video itself totally capture the beauty of our little neck of the woods.

Bracken Alexander I grew up in Midland, but I haven’t been back in many years. In 2017, I drove through West Texas on I-10, and I remembered why I love it out there...

I do the exact same thing. This video displays a deep and abiding part of me, my Western roots are deep.

Spent almost 7 years in Fort Stockton and it was a wonderful time and I loved the country. From Big Bend to Dalhart and everyplace in between is wonderful country. I now live in humid East Texas but always look forward to heading West!!

I am glad you enjoy Wyman's video. It sure communicates his gifted talent to all who views his work. Sadly I read somewhere the composer/ pianist providing the music in the video has passed away. But he left a legacy of his talent to be enjoyed by all.

***** If you watch Doug Smith Recovery (Texas Country Reporter) you can watch the "the life changing" events that Doug endured. Unless something has changed in the last few months, I believe Doug is alive and well.
