First video with this fine old .58 caliber military rifle: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWKlq4OHns-Ir8U

These are super fun to shoot, living history for sure. I have the exact same 1860 Springfield that I inherited and hunted with it for about 5 seasons. Brought home two Whitetails and a Blackbear. Now it's a wall hanger as I'm afraid for anything to happen to it. Thanks for the video!

My Great Great Grandfather (My Grandmothers grandfather) carried a '55 rifle during the Civil War. According to a history of his unit, 110th Pennsylvania, he was first sent to Arlington Hall outside DC in August of 62. Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, was kept at Harper's Ferry during the march to Gettysburg and reenlisted at Brady's Station the day before the battle of the Wilderness and was with Meade during the campaign to Appomattox. One of the things I enjoy doing at the different battlefields is seeing if the 100th was there. I have a "photo copy" of his discharge papers that has two dates of discharge. The first one was crossed out and July 15th filled in. The day that was crossed out was April 14th 1865 in Washington D.C. I'm surprised that model 1855 made in '60 still has the door for the tape. Ive read by '59 they had modified the lock by removing the door but left the area.

My favorite rifled musket is the 1841 MS. Rifle. I love the video that Hickok45 made about that rifle but this one and the 1861 are both great too. I prefer .54 caliber to .58 caliber or .577 caliber although getting store bought .54 caliber minnie balls for the 1841 can be difficult. I got the idea for my video that I made last week and posted on my channel entitled ‘’smoking pot with some .45 Colt slugs’’ from watching Hickok45 shoot flower pots and call it ‘’smoking pot’’

CZ 75 b vs BERETTA 92 fs. It would be interesting to see a comparison like the Beretta and the SIG P226. There aren't many Beretta vs CZ comparisons on KZbin. It would be interesting with a lot of views. Both pistols appeared in the same year 1975.

As to Battlefields, and one steeped in history and lore, may I suggest two. Cowpens and Dan Morgan, who had and implemented the only real strategic and tactical battle plan allied with terrain, the composition/capabilities of his troops, as well as, a hell of a whippin' on Col. Banastre Tarleton.... The engagement was the only complete envelopment of an Army in the Field during the War of American Independence. The other tussle would be King's Mountain with the invasion of the Over The Mountain People by Tarleton's Tories. Two famed firearms are associated with this engagement. First, the Ferguson Rifle, and the demise of Patrick Ferguson, and "Sweet Lips", the Tennessee Rifle that "touched off" Ole Fergie. Sweet Lips was at one time displayed in the Tennessee State Museum for all to view and appreciate..... In any event, the trek East two these two sites also lends the occasion to take in Sycamore Shoals, Jonesboro, David Crockett Birthplace, Rodgersville, Rocky Mount and the Blount Mansion. The latter was the first house across the Appalachian Mountains to have glass windows. The Cherokees were fascinated by the clear looking glass panes. The local Cherokee Clans came far and near to tap on the windows and it went on night and day for a couple of years. There were also the Bean Brothers at Bean Station who created some of the first Tennessee Rifles.... Few are aware that Cowpens and Kings Mountain were the turning point of morale, support and bite to enable Washington to push, and trap the British Army at Yorktown with the French Fleet blocking the naval extraction...... There is so much early, American/Tennessee History to savor and appreciate in America's first Frontier, and the Scots-Irish Migration with a few hanging Northwestern Brits and a passel of Germans, aka Dutchmen.... There was no real Germany then, just famed Hessians who went AWOL..... All this makes me want to take down my Royland Southgate Flintlock and spark off a patched ball or two......

I could never fire something that old, be too afraid of damaging it. I like mine shiny and new. Also, not a collector in that regards. I collect ugly and weird modern guns like the Canik METE Miami Day and Night series, or a gold DP12, or that gold Hi Power knock off by Grisan with the weirded and worst front sight I've ever seen on any gun. Yeah make that front sight half a centimeter wide. Thanks Grisan.
