I have pictures of me at 11 years old with tears in my eyes getting my first gun for Christmas. It's a Glenfield semi auto, you know the one with a squirrel on the stock. Believe it or not its still a nail driver. Firing pin wore out , gunsmith said it wasn't worth fixing, so another gunsmith just quoted a price so I still squirrel hunt with my 1st ever rifle. I took my great nieces squirrel hunting, it was fun but next time I'm telling them to leave their phones at the house.

If you are currently 12-years-old, it's not too hard to believe that it's still a nail driver. :-) Just kidding. We'll assume you're an old guy now. I'm just picking on people who neglect to give their age. So many comments I've seen through the years saying, "I've been watching you since I was 10," or "I've been watching your videos since I was in high school." I always assume they are a few years older or they would not say that, but then again, that fellow might be a freshman in college who started watching in high school. :-)

I have a 1937 Model 70 Winchester. The model 70 debut in 1935. It is a pre war low number gun. They are sought after some what. My Father in law gave it too me along time ago and it is in beautiful shape. I have hunted Whitetail with it every year since he gave it to me. He has passed on now and I would never sell the gun it is priceless to me. He was my best friend and I learned a lot from him. Priceless this rifle is too me because He gave it to me. Life is good.

My Grandfather when he got his Hunting License after WW2 in Germany bought only 2 Rifles a Suhler Drilling from 1952 in 7x57R and 16/70 and a Side by Side 16/70 after he died in 1979 (a Year before i was born) my Dad used the Drilling some time an then gave it to a Gunsmith to do some work new Scope (Zeiss 8x56) and Mount and a full Barrel Long Insertbarrel in 22 Hornet and some cosmetic things on the Stock and Metalwork then he used it some more Years and hunted many many more Wildboar Roe Deer and Red after i got my Hunting he handed me the Drilling as my first Rifle in 1998 now i brought it again to a Gunsmith to give this Rifle some Love (New Scope and a new set of Barrels cause the Riflebarrel is dead and Cosmetic things on the Stock and Metalwork yes it will cost more then a new Highend Rifle ....) this Rifle will never leave my Family when the Time for my Son comes to get his Hunting License he will get it. I have many other Rifles but still today this Drilling means more to me then the others.

people who was allowed to own dangerous things and were taught how dangerous they are tend to live peaceful lives, compared to the modern kids who are now stigmatized by being told that guns are for killing people. turns out most killers barely have time on the weapons they used to murder people. becaause the more aware you are to the danger you can inflict the better you train your temperance and control. remember, a weak man who cannot harm anyone can not be peaceful, he can only be fearful and helpless. a peaceful man, is someone who have the ability to hurt others but chooses not to everyday.

I have an old Winchester M94 lever action, it belonged to my now deceased older brother who died from his alcoholism from kidney & liver failure. I could always remember him using it out hunting every season and getting a deer almost every year since I could remember. No-one else in my family even wanted to care for his firearms, so I took them in and cleaned them up and greased them so they wont rust. This is a truly priceless gun to me, even though I wouldn't ever use it for hunting since I would rather have more range with a 270win. I rarely even touch it, but his guns are the only keepsakes I can remember my brother by. Another great video as always!

I have an Ithaca Flues Double that was my grandfather’s trap gun he had with him when he was killed in a car wreck on the way back from a trap shoot. My dad was 18 months old and never knew his father. I had it restored by a retired Ithaca employee. He also restored the Winchester 1906 my grandfather won in a turkey shoot. Beyond priceless. My 17 year old son took his first shot with that Winchester just like I did.

I just bought a folding 9mm carbine. For starters I have thousands of 9mm cases for reloading. 2nd, I do citizen patrol in large stores where I may have to take out an active killer 100 yards down an isle. As a carbine rifle that's a doable distance without over penetration. It stays in the perpetrator and doesn't go into a backroom hitting an Innocent person. 3rd, it folds and when I carry it in it's case it's doesn't look like I'm carrying a rifle. 4th, it's a lot of fun training with it. I have my 30:06 and my 30:30 for when they are needed. This carbine just gives me more options. That why we have multiple guns...for options.

This brought back memories. I grew up with an 870 20 gauge. Loved that thing. So I decided to buy a plinker. It was a 17HMR. It's a great flat-shooting round. I live in CA, so it's too, too loud though. I bought it sight unseen. Big mistake! I always field-strip and go over any gun before I use it. It had a hokey plastic receiver! The bolt had to ride on two guide-rods with set-screws. If the set-screws were too tight, the bolt wouldn't cycle. You could never load the mag all the way up, or it failed to feed. I'm actually lucky I didn't get hurt. Many people did. They would blow up, rip their extractors off. Blow their mags out. Hornady made their ammo. They gave them a call to complain about their problems. The engineer asked them about what firearm was giving them trouble. When he heard, he said the .17 has too much pressure to be blow-back operated. It needs to be gas-operated. What a rooky mistake! Left me in a jam, that's for sure. Remington offered nothing for the rifle, which had maybe 200rds through it. Then unbelievingly, they wanted to buy the ammo back, for pennies on the dollar. I will buy an older Remington, for sure, but nothing ever, ever from them.

You cannot go far wrong with anything touched by John Browning. In 2524, a 1911 with good ammo will be just as effective as it was in 1911. Body armor will just mean you have to shoot twice.

You are right! I have a Revelation .22 I got for Christmas when I was about 16. I am in my 70s. I wouldn’t trade it, even though it needs work. I put $150 in it recently and it was not repaired properly. It probably cost $49. Still I love it.

I don't like the Bakelite trigger guards, but those Mossbergs had great accurate barrels. I had a Mossberg 36c my brother found dirt cheap and gave me, the trigger would not pull far enough back to remove the bolt because the Bakelite trigger guard was warped.

I have a brand new, never fired 1967 Marlin model 99 gold trigger 18-shot semi-auto rifle, itbwas bought new by my uncle at the local sporting goods store in....wait for it.....BROOKLYN NEW YORK CITY. Yep, we had sporting goods stores that had racks of guns before we went all communist blue-state!!! Oh did i mention what makes the rifle unique is that it has absolutely no serial number on it because it was made before the federal fire-arms act that required serial numbers on all guns😢

My grandfather bought a Ruger 10/22 long about 11-13 years before he got sick in 1975 and it’s one of 3 things I have of his and I would never give it up. Even if he had not got it and I came by it without the passing from grandfather to grandson it’s still a gun you can’t replace. To this day it’s the only first year model I have ever seen so to find another I think would be near impossible. I also have a little 1908 .22 iver 7 shot revolver that was the first pistol I got and I got it the same time I was given the .22 ruger from my aunt who got it after my grandfather passed then gave it to me in 1990 when I was 10 along with the .22 iver my parents got me. I have been shooting modern day shells from the over and it’s never given me issue it’s a well kept pistol and I have Put 1000s of rounds throw both of them. I can’t tell you the great memory’s I have from hunting with those guns a a child. Even the iver pistol is the rarest version and best of quality and still has the original leather case fully intact and not dry rot.
