For some really stupid reason the No. 11 CCI caps and the No. 10 Remington caps are the same size (essentially). Took me awhile to figure this out! I think the CCI No. 10 caps are for little 31 cal pistols. Thanks for the video!

Yes, cap size varies from one brand to another. Remington caps tend to be larger than CCI. I have two sets of nipples for my Remington revolver. One set fits Remington #10 the other fits CCI #10. Cap fit is important on revolvers. Too small can cause misfires, too large they can fall off.

Cool video, thanks. I love my BP revolvers too! I prefer to load mine off the gun too. I think that is called "The Tower Of Power" but i can't remember who makes it now. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the video. I really enjoyed working up that load with the revolver.

I switched to paper cartridges and never looked back.

I have tried paper cartridges too. With a round ball they load and work well. I would need to alter the frame of the pistol as well as the loading ram to load a cartridge with the bullet shaped projectile. Just loading the bullet over loose powder with the cylinder in the gun is a pain. It seems to me that the reproduction pistols are not built to the same dimensions as the originals must have been. There are several modifications that can be done to make these pistols easier to load and use. I may eventually do those, when I run out of more interesting projects. : )

I've watched your videos on the 1858 Remington by Pietta and learned more from yours than a ton of others. Did you file down your front dovetail sight and if so, how much?
@traditionalmuzzleloader49832 жыл бұрын
Some, but I don't measure how much. I just shoot from a good bench rest and file a little at a time until my point of impact is where I want it. Thank you for your comments
