At 21:04 you passed a boat I had to go back to. It was called the Arch Stanton. I know these are the Brits so anything is possible. The only Arch Stanton I knew was the grave beside the grave where the gold was buried in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. It was in the grave marked 'unknown'. I laughed out loud when I saw the sign next to the name Arch Stanton, sure enough, was marked Unknown. Thank you for that moment along with this excellent experience.

When I watch these, I pretend I'm driving the boat but you're doing all the locks. It's a good combination 😜

Very nice. We norwegians love slow tv, putting cameras on trains and vessels and broadcasting in prime time. Actually I have gotten quit a distorted view of the canals watching KZbin. Every vlogger, and they are truly many, seems to focus on locks. Very nice to see that there actually is something between the locks...

Hi David, I really love these realtime cruises that you post from time to time. I've saved two of them now and I use them as a screensaver. In my humble opinion, adding music only detracts from is an otherwise beautifull video and Ive often commented on this subject to other canal youtubers, some of whom even go to the length of playing vocal songs over the natural sounds of the canal. Look forward to seeing more your realtime cruises. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into your vlogs.

Thank you. If possible, I'd rather you played them from KZbin so that I get the view count and any revenue from ads at the start and end though...

Apologies David, I've deleted them from my hard drive and I'll endeavour to watch them through your KZbin channel. As a subscriber to your channel, I am constantly watching replays of your vlogs anyway as I find them so informative and entertaining. One day I'll have my own narrowboat and your vlogs will stand me in good stead for this happening. I got totally wrapped up in vicariously cruising by way of your channel and forgot about the numbers and revenue - i don't want to be a pirate before I've even entered the water!!

The lack of music is indeed Music to MY ears! Yes, I've stretched out on the bow, as per usual, and drifted off to sleep, don't worry I don't snore! I so appreciate these non-vlogs, and I'm sure the are the easiest to post, as there is neither complicated editing, nor voice over with which to deal, but they are treasures to be sure! Blessings & thank you again for the ride! I needed it this week, as it's hurricane season, full of rain here in North Carolina, full of heat, then chill, & so on, very odd. This was heavenly.

When I was very young we spent our summers in Madison, Ct. in a cottage down on Long Island Sound and the sound of your engine reminds me of my summer mornings quite a bit. It gets light in Ct. early in the summer because it's so far north, and every morning Dr. Gilbert would go out and check his lobster pots with a little Put Put engine on the back of his dingy and I'd lay there, just waking up, just getting light and hear the put-put-put-put of Dr. Gilbert. Days when the air was still and the sound carried well over the water you could hear him run his entire string of 10 pots, but other days when there was a wind blowing or waves breaking on the beach, the sound would fade out, slowly, when he left. And then you'd strain your ears to hear the first sound off in the distance of his return but by that time I was usually out across the street, standing on the cool sand waiting to see how well he'd done that day.

What a lovely way to spend three hours after one`s sunday roast in wide screen. When you stopped early on I could have done with a cheese and tomato sandwich, a small apple pie and a cup of tea. 3 to 4 mph (or 1,000 rpm) is quite fast enough, on such a beautiful day, unlike some of the boats going the opposite way. Ooop`s, at bridge 88!!.

I certainly won't be adding any music on top of this. It's just natural sounds that you get, chugging along on the canals. By the way, have you ever been down the Gloucester and Sharpness canal David. The bridges along there are idyllic black and white painted swing bridges, all manned if I remember correctly. You could do one of these real time videos along the whole length of that one. Martin.

What I like about these contributions is that I am able to do other things while watching, I’m doing the Telegraph Crossword at the moment - cryptic of course - I hope you don’t mind. Watching this is particularly pleasant, as I can escape back to the balmy summer days away from this miserable autumn one.
