Really enjoyed this! What a nice family heirloom idea! In the end, it’s memories that survive and remind others of who we are/were. God Bless.

Thank you Daryl. God Bless you also. Glad you enjoyed this project my friend. We should all have things to pass down to our kids. I think it helps build character also.

So here I am, it's 3am in the UK and I'm awake looking for something to watch on yt when up pops a notification for this vid... PERFECT. I've done projects with resin before but I've never heard of Micarta until now. What a great machette, you could hack your way through a tropical jungle with that beast. Thanks Stephen
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
LOL!! Thank you very much. Sorry to keep you awake, but I am very glad you enjoyed this project. It is very sharp and is balanced really well also. Hacking vines would be fun! Take care.

I would definitely watch some reviews before hacking through, well... anything really... with that machete. It's a shame watching this guy so thoroughly apply lipstick to a pig. A Tramontina would be infinitely better, and would probably be cheaper too.

Awesome knife Stephen, nice sentimental micata handle, i looked at the link and i see that the blade is on sale , $25 😲 that would be over $100 in Canada, must be nice having a woodcraft with those great prices. Take care Rob

Thank you Dave. Glad you enjoyed this project. Micarta also makes some pretty cool pens and bottle stoppers. I wouldn't go much larger than that though. Too messy. Thanks again and take care.

You should do a video on how you make the mosaic pins. I had to buy mine on line.
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
Thank you John. Glad you enjoyed this project. I am not sure if I will be making the Mosaic pins for a while because I still have over two feet of it for future projects. I researched it on KZbin and found a lot of information on making them. They are easy to make you can find the tubes and even epoxy at most all Hobby Supply stores and a handheld vacuum pump for very cheap at an auto parts store or Harbor Freight. I hope this helps. Take care.

Really great knife and handle Stephen. Loved the details and the care you took over the project. Just one small thing . . . that wasn't YOUR nail polish was it? ;-) Well projected!
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
LOL!! Not my nail polish brother. I use nail polish to dye epoxy for my pen castings. So glad you enjoyed this project my friend. Take care!

@@StephenOgle LOL As you know I was only jiving you! I use my wifes left-over make-up for all sorts of things. I'm gifted to have a daughter and 3 grand daughters who all use make-up. (+ a great grand daughter). And I get all the left-overs and sometimes I think, " what am I going to do with all this stuff". But I find a way, some times. Isn't life and family wondeful? :-)

Another great project Stephen! I am unfamiliar with the term "Micarta". Can you explain how you made this please. Thanks very much. My best to you and your family. Stay Safe!! Regards Dennis
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Dennis. I already have my footage for making Micarta and that video will be next. Glad you enjoyed this project. All the best to you sir and yours. Take care.

Looks very good but I don’t know what Micarta is? Thanks 😊
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Anne. Micarta is essentially cloth or paper that has been soaked in resin to form a block. It is extremely durable and one of the best handle materials for knives and handgun grips. My next video will demonstrate how I make it myself. I hope you will enjoy that video also. Take Care.

I have made handles for two of these one for grandson and one for me I used wood and brass pins I don't like the supplied hardware
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Thomas. I knew I wanted the Mosaic Pins before I got the blades home. I agree about the standard hardware. Glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.
