Just found this video, I have a 1973 Navy Arms, "Uberti" (exactly) as yours is. Mine is a very nice shooter and very accurate at 50 yards. Mine is also chambered in .38 special. It's a fun gun for plinking.

Hi Rick - those are smooth running rifles and hard to beat for fun shooting. I picked up a Winchester repro 1873 Short Rifle and had a great shoot - even hit at 200 yards with those iron sights. I had to lift the rear sight a couple of notches and it is still hard to see a milk jug at that range - but the bullets had eyes that day and it was one after another. Great video.

The 1866 is one of the most historically significant rifles in the 19th century. Going up against it caused the US to consider looking for a repeater to replace the Trapdoor and led Russia to replace the Berdan with the Mosin-Nagant. I have an Uberti in 45 LC and what you say about not short-shucking it is definitely the truth.

Milsurp Mike Thanks for watching Buddy, this Rifle is a lot of fun. It kind of takes You back. I can imagine that this was a game changer back when it came out. every once in a while if You don't fully close the lever, it will leave a round in the chamber, definitely have to be very deliberate with the lever. I love this rifle though. I backed off after the video and fired it from the top of the hill ringing the gong. It was cool. This will definately be a hard rifle to take back.
