I'm really enjoying this series. All your videos have been very helpful as I'm in the midst of reupholstering a classic davenport. FWIW, the knot you identified as a clove hitch is actually a lark's head or cow hitch. A lark's head has its two single hitches tied in opposing directions whereas a clove hitch has them tied in the same direction.

I once read a sailor's words. "If you can't tie a good knot, tie a lot of them." My source has the knot misidentified as a clove hitch.
