Super interesting. Quite different to how we're taught here in the UK so loved watching this. Thanks Bucky and Brandon!

I've had no formal training in traditional work and developed my own technique.

Always cool . . . In addition to the instruction about upholstery, the fact you have albums by the crate is cool too . . . We must be close to the same age I think,, because I recognize many of the album covers . . . I've fooled with wood for years and years and now trying some upholstery, learning something new . . . Back in the 70's, I worked in a department store that had an upholsterer on staff. I helped him some (sweeping and moving furniture) and so many of the things you do remind me of his work . . . It is artistry with care and class . . . Thanks for taking the time to produce these videos . . . I have a lot to learn, but you share insights and techniques that help a novice . . .

I'm 68. My first record purchase was "A Space in Time, Ten Years After" at Stoner Drug, Hamburg, Iowa. 1971 Music makes the workday go smoother. Good luck! "Buck"

Thanks Buck . . . @@Buckminsterupholstery . . . You have me by about four years . . . Yep, music makes the day smoother . . . My first 33 1/3 was a Doobie Brothers Album . . . my first 45 was My Chevy Van . . . That too was influencing the need for upholstery way back then . . . I drive a 23 year old "conversion" van today and looking for another one , the right one, to customize . . . in the style of the 70's . . . On a serious note, it is a blessing to watch your videos . . . . . your approach to this work is methodical and artistic . . . It is not often in today's world to find someone who takes pride in his work. It is refreshing to see your mastery of the craft broken down into logical steps . . . Blessings and Merry Christmas . . .

This is fun. My first car was a '74 Vega panel express and my introduction into car customizing prior to actually getting into the upholstery trade. (The faux-fur headliner adhesive failed, falling over my head like a blanket as I was driving 55mph) My mother-in-law didn't know how right she was when she called vans "sin bins"... Today, I drive a '91 Chevy Sport van with the bus seats removed. People make fun of it but it still handles my needs. For more- hipster73@hotmail.com

@@Buckminsterupholstery Hey Buck ... It is fun .... And funny too .... Your 74 Vega would do 55 mph? .... In 76, I had a red 74 Vega Wagon ... I didn't have time to customize mine because I was changing spark plugs all the time... I carried two sets with me ..... I started to fix it up by ordering some mag wheels ... The company got two in and then couldn't get the two others .... So I looked "cool" on one side .. I did install an 8-track player under the dash ..... my girlfriend's parents worried about the wagon and then they were especially worried when I bought a 74 Ford cargo van .... I put in two sun roofs .... Blessings, Jeff .... Thanks again for your videos and sharing your expertise....

I've attempted traditional upholstery. Soon realised how much difficult it is. Well done.

Awesome, Kim. We used to do that all the time at the old shop. Imperial edges and double stuffed seats.

I thought I'd stop in for a minute and ended up staying the whole time. I would add a before and after to all of your videos and a link to the playlist of all videos for each piece. People love before and afters.

Was there a layer of cotton over the horse hair or will that go over the muslin?
