Join me on an 18th-century overnight winter camping trip.
In this video, I head into the woods as the first snow flurries begin to fall along the Ohio-Michigan line. Instead of hiking to a ready-built shelter, I head for a favorite campsite situated on bluffs overlooking the St. Joseph River. Watch as I utilize 18th-century gear to build a shelter, stay warm, and trek in and out of my site comfortably.
WHERE IS YOUR RIFLE?
I came up as a historical interpreter at a Boy Scout camp, where I couldn't carry a firearm. Now I'm a college student, so I can't keep one in the dorm. But... finally, after years of yearning for a flintlock, I built my own in June of 2021. There is a photo posted in the 'community' section of my channel if you'd like to check it out. The rifle will be in as many of my future videos as possible- though I am still restricted by dorm life.
Finally, please be aware that this playlist is in the dawn of many years of growth. As stated in the description section of this playlist: "It's great to learn alongside professionals, but watching someone learn and grow with their gear is just as valuable. I am by no means an expert, but in this playlist, you can watch as I evolve." My clothing and accessories may not be perfect, but as of the publish date, it is the absolute best I can do given my available time and financial resources, and a host of other variables. I hope my passion for the 18th-century shows through despite any inaccuracies. Know that I am committed to quality and am constantly evolving.
