Good Job, and interesting subject… I might add that Trek, Trekking, Historical Trekking are all modern terms for a trip like that, not used in the period ( not a complaint as I use the term myself ) unless some research has proven otherwise… I prefer to use the term scout, hunt, etc depending on the situation… anyway, you guys did a good job explaining what you were doing and why… Keep-up the good work…

I'll have to say that young man in this video is a wealth of knowledge. Wise for his age. I started out trecking and buckskining in my twenties which was back in the 70s glad young people are taking up an interest in it. In this modern-day if I had to quote bug-out I would want that young man in my group.

Came across this on KZbin. I greatly enjoyed watching you and your companion actually "getting out and doing it"! It was nice to see how the chosen gear "rode" as you were both striding along. Barefooted?! He's MUCH braver than I!

First time viewing. Great job! Good to see “younger” folks involved. There’s a few of us that do similar “hunts” here in the Sierras. One of us is 27 and makes superb rifles. Only thing I heard “wrong” was the sirens in the background and a car honking towards the end. Great job.

It’s always always nice to share the great things that the hobby has to offer. And glad you enjoyed the video as it’s often hard to get things just right.

Leather is not a good clothing item, great!!!! Buckskin is a wonder stuff, hot when it’s hot cold when it’s cold and snot when it’s wet. Indians adopted cloth as soon as it was available Spend a week in the timber in leather you will reach for wool Dry hard cheeses like Parmesan Or Asiago last well in the woods Pepper and nutmegs was a go to spice back then
