Balaclava has a lively, outdoor Market; the St Luke Anglican Church, where many victims of the infamous Kendall Train Crash (1957) are buried, is a historical treasure and museum.
Nearby the village of Marlborough Hill offers great scenic walks and tranquility; the Armstrong bar provides relaxation, local entertainment and great conversation with everyday Jamaicans. The town was established around the plantations of the Arscott & Sherman families in the late 18th century. Graves of these families can be found in the cemetery of St.Luke's Anglican church. One of the plantation style houses still remains, and commands sweeping views of the Appleton Estate (Rum)sugar cane fields, as well as the foothills of the Cockpit Country; the nearby districts are Russell Hill, Wallingford and Oxford.
I am Fire Reid. Welcome to my KZbin Channel. Here you will see True Jamaican Country life. Real Jamaican Vibes. Life on the Farm with the plants and animals. Exploring intersting Jamaican places. COME ALONG ON THIS JOURNEY WITH ME. FIRE REID - True Jamaican Vibes

My grandmother and I used to travel down from Warsop to Balaclava to get the train to Kingston. As a child this was so exciting. Thank you so much for taking me back to Balaclava. Wonderful memories.

My friend it's funny how Jamaica so small and growing up i would think Jamaica was big i remember the days when a guy would commit crimes and would run to another area in the same parish and he would be safe for awhile and saying this i travel a lot and there is a lot of places in st Elizabeth that i don't know and some of them never heard of before......then again as to people hiding from place to place wasn't so much about size was more about lack of transportation. Things different now in that regard....20 years ago before i leave Jamaica there was so much car Mart they were even more than supermarket in Kingston i could remember seeing car Mart in none popular area in clarendon and all over the place transportation and communication technologies bring everything into one gone are the days if the bus leave u to Kingston u have to wait until tomorrow again just like how the pandemic is crippling the world is the same way violent crime is crippling Jamaica and only if they put a grip or a stop to it Jamaica is one of the nicest place on earth especially if you understand the privilege of the culture the things u can do freely Jamaica is a place where you can go by the river side make a fire roast some breadfruits and cook and eat and enjoy and Chuck off in the water same time make fire anywhere and cook and eat and drink you beer and enjoy yourself outside of Jamaica out door drinking is prohibited stop breaking down Jamaica u don't realize what you have they say cow never know the use of its tail until they lose it stand up and build and defend Jamaica don't be fooled other people trying and coming want to take it away from us Jamaica sweet we have the sweetest music in the world also the sweetest culture look at the music industry world wide and see how much people trying to adopt our culture let go violence or go down in silence not even condolence

@@kingsleybrown5110 Thanks a lot you couldn't have said it better Jamaica is coming from a far and the young people that acquire privilege to be living there should make it a wonderful and decent place to be but most of them are lazy and instead of working for a honest bread they rather turn to crime. Stay safe my brother.
