Nice one Tom, thanks for the walk/talk through of your new Makita… 👍🏻 I am not a Makita fanboy, having invested heavily in another well known 18v platform, but their Track Saw offering doesn’t cut it… 🤷🏼‍♂️ Long story short, I didn’t really want another battery platform to worry about, but have been thoroughly impressed with everything I’ve read, seen and heard about the Makita, your presentation included, so I’ve only gone and ordered the corded version… 👀 I have also ordered the track and paraphernalia separately to suit my needs, including a 1m + 1.5m track with bag, joiners plus fast action clamps… 👏🏻 Can’t wait to receive it all and get started, thanks again and now sub’d… 😉

Hi very nice presentation. I have two questions. 1- to cut the rubber, how do you do that when you have only one track ? Where should I put my saw when I do the the first cut? Should I cut the rubber by itself ? Or I should a piece of plywood under it and do the cut at the same time? 2- I like to replace my blade , what kind of blade do you recommend? Thanks for your input.

Hi, I have to be honest. I have only ever done the first cut when I had 2 tracks, but If i was doing it with one track I would start about 6 inches in from the end and finish with a sharp Stanley knife. Also I would do the first cut on top of a piece of plywood. As for the blade It depends what work you're doing, but I would replace like-for-like. So , in other words as long as the tpi is the same and it's a good make Doesn't really matter. Hope this helps thanks for watching.

I am looking at upgrading to cordless makita track saw but I’ve seen you got to be carefull when cutting ,the saw blade doesn’t bind as not got a riving knife like festool and dewalt and Iam makita fan 👍

Hi, yes, I totally agree, but in the board material, i.e., ply and mdf, not such a problem. It's more of a problem in cutting real wood, but even so, thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching

Yes, it was well spotted, but it still runs on the 18-volt batteries.
