Good to see pax rail service hanging on in Michigan. I left for boot camp in 1962 from the Michigan Central Depot on the NYC Wolverine for Chicago. Now regularly use the Amtrak NE corridor service between Providence and NYC. I hope we will see a rationalized and revitalized passenger rail system in this country...badly needed.

Thanks for your comment. I am curious to see the new rail cars they are putting in service on the Wolverine. They had a test run a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to taking a trip on them.

They put the Amfleet on the end because the Wolverine can never consist of a uniform set of coaches. It’s some sort of FRA regulation. I don’t know what they’ll do when they start hauling the new Venture coaches- probably throw an old F40 cabbage car on the end.
