Great video!. I've been bowhunting deer for 30+ years and this channel still continues to teach me things. This is the stuff deer hunters need to focus on, along with shooting their bows year-round.

I’ve also noticed that deer will blow if they smell you, but won’t necessarily run. They’re just alerting the other deer in the area to your presence. Typically it’s accompanied by stomping.

Very good information. Unfortunately most hunters have no clue or won't take the time to learn deer and deer behavior. They could be a lot more successful if they know all this good information. I've always referred to the vomeronasal organ as the jacob's gland so you taught me somthing new. Never see your channel before but I will be subscribing.

First time seeing one of your videos. It was excellent and I subscribed. The only thing I can disagree with is deer have been around for 4 million years.

I walk with wild whitetail deer. We visit, travel, overwatch, & mingle as neighbors..sitting with sleeping deer, I have FLIR video and dashcam IR video documenting us resting in the grass or soft spots in woods..I have followed their development and visited strange deer for over 40 yrs, seriously studied & lived with a matriarchal lineage for over 25 years.. "people have all the answers" is the problem. Remember what the people who "represented GOD & upheld the LAWS of Moses" did to Jesus.. I don't speak for God, I listen..working together, living together with, and "listening to" wild deer families, I have always been closer to God than when I return to humanity.

@davecarroll9715 I have been having a few lively conversations with several folks in the comments here, some believe different "opinions" as to creation in human sense or evolution, or evolution being a creation of God, & more.. we humans make simple complicated, need acceptance and certainty..kinda get lost in ourselves.. then fail to see others' experiences as they do.. I'll have to review your comment..and discern the source context of your comment vs what it's face perception seems to be.. The joy of being human is that everything makes sense, just not to us, not yet!😂
@francisconti90853 ай бұрын
@@davecarroll9715 OK, here we go into academic "standard of the moment" : -First ubgjlates 50 million years ago.. -deer evolved over 30 million years..had tusks, & still had upper incisors.. -6.8-4.3 million years ago deer looked different, were smaller, but evolving.. 4-3.5 million years ago, whitetail deer differentiated..and remain the oldest species of deer in the world.. Personal opinions and beliefs, religious or scientific standards vary.. All I do know for certain is that I've walked, worked, lived alongside wild whitetail as neighbors, as co-equals, respect them & have the saying "we only eat the tourists" (balanced populations are critical, human disruption requires compensation) *I've learned more from my deer than human acedemic/social knowledge sources. I quickly question my own beliefs & perceptions..the world we see is bigger than our experiences..

*I'd be interested in seeing further study into deer vision, I have "new insight" as to how they use hearing & vision, and scent evaluation/verification. How deer overlap or segregate fields of vision, broad and fixed bi-ocular overlap, and the fixed bi-ocular has a more "square" iris presented, but HOW does this conscious selection of vision relate to "view focus" & actual focal length difference, upon that section of retina..🤔

Yep . I have 45 years in and never heard it but I have heard and seen a couple things that very few people have heard or seen. 1 example, a dominant buck coming into a feeding area like a freight train smashing blow downs and logs stomping and bounding high into the air, letting everyone know he is coming and you better not stick around if you know what's good for you . 😅
