That battle at the end proves that it's a good doomstack, defeating several elite dwarf armies. But fight against elite high elf armies is a good test it needs, HE have very long range archers. Facing a dino army is another good test, against many powerful single entities

Dwarves are mediocre outside of auto-resolve. But horse archers are basically a hard counter to them if they are short on crossbows and artillery. The lack of elven opponents is telling that it doesn't work that well outside the slow or missile-light armies.

God this teminds me of a mod (doesn't work anymore for a long long time) that changed the research trees of the old word factions. The empire had 2 tech that in short increased the range of units, by like a half extra range of their vanilla range. The thing that the mod developer kinda forgot was the empire has ranged cav, pistolier outriders, GRENADE OUTRIDERS. This made outriders snipers on horseback and trenade outriders shorter yet mobile arty. This vid reminds me of those meme units back then.
