Enjoy your videos a lot. Greetings from the south of Namibia, from the town Oranjemund...

This one brought back memories, I drove that road in 2016 having stayed the night before at Etambura near Orupembe. Namibia is a adventure drivers paradise. Fantastic country

Howdy Captain Yak! Sailing the good ship “Landy” over the high plains to the strumming of a beautiful guitar! Love the scenery and the smooth track! Imagine that you qualify for a Masters in Geology after all this time! Be safe and saddle up!

Love the heat and solitude….and the rocks. 😂 Your videos reflect a simplicity that is infectious. Nice clean simple edits, no hard sell, no blooming click bait, just the rumble of a 200TDI?Landy in a timeless landscape. Pure bliss 😊

What a lovely comment to leave, thank you Jonathan. 😃 It's very, very, very nice to receive something like this when you've been editing since 5am. I'm glad you enjoy what I am trying to convey... Yes, a 200TDI 😀 I do need to pump my Patreon and KZbin Channel memberships a bit more tbh, as I'm slowly going broke working on these 6 days a week, but I always feel a bit awful trying to sell anything to anybody!

Great episode ! I really enjoy the mix of you talking to the camera and the voice over/music with the fantastic shots of the landscape and tracks. I did get a giggle at the contrast between the graded piste and the mountain pass though. Oh and your gimble doesn't like those micro jitters sure enough, but it's not distracting.
@roamingyak7 ай бұрын
Why thank you Sir! I must confess I worked extra hard to make it as good as I could... editing will get much better as my filming improves I think... "those micro jitters sure enough, but it's not distracting" Thats because I edited out the very worst parts, or covered them with b-roll footage 🤪🤪😂🤣 Some of it really made it hard to keep your dinner down.
@martinqualters6087 ай бұрын
I can only imagine your face when you reviewed the jittery footage...all that time and effort for no result. Then the endless hours of editing. Ah, the film makers life. Mate, you did this as a one man operation, compare this to tv productions with a crewe, fixers etc. This is an outstanding effort. Thanks for sharing.

I can confirm that the more northern route to Opuwo is a lot worse than the D3707/5. Drove to Marble mine in 2022, 200 meters of it were only just drivable with a spotter. Coming the other way would have been impossible.

Thanks for letting us know... It was unmemorable when I did it a few years before you, so the commented that I had that it had been washed out in places appears to be true, was that your impression of the tough parts, flood damage?
@markyeadon72717 ай бұрын
@@roamingyakDefinitely flood damage. The road was obviously the quickest route for the water and it washed deep gullies into it. Much more than a grader needed to fix it.

Not in April 2020 when everybody was stuck at home... it was deadly silent every day. I loved it! I generally don't film other people too much - if you stick a camera in my face without asking you'll suddenly find you have a very sore nose, so I only film other people after making friends with them and asking permission generally...

Nice video, it brings me back into the magnificent Kaokoland 💚 - I think I spent one night on the same community campsite which is seen in the end of your clip - maximum basic, no facilities? On your way to Kaoko Otavi? Then it's been very nice located at the Hoarusib river bed, for 100 N$ in 2023, and some fruits, eggs and of course some cups of cold water 🤗
