19 Month Loc Update | Bald Spot?!? 😫

All of the RELIGION OF LOCS, is akin to saying ; (1) not EVERYONE who smokes cigarettes will develop lung cancer or heart disease (2) not EVERYONE who has diabetes will have an amputation or develop kidney failure or go blind (3) not EVERYONE who uses heroin or meth will overdose (5) not EVERYONE who drives at 100 mph will have a deadly car crash So what the hell, if I lose ANY of my hair follicles, so what A HAIRSTYLE is WORTH THE RISK OF BALDNESS. None of these RISKS are REQUIRED to LIVE. Nor is a HAIRSTYLE REQUIRED to LIVE. THAT is what I am hearing.

I have alopecia in the most randomd spots....10 years huge loose natural, and now I'm almost 4 months loc'd...i worried about a flair upd and more obvious bald spots in my locs but it's been great...maybe to grow that spot out join it with a nearby loc "sister" it's kinda deep and special allowing your hair to support and encourage your hair along....maybe retwist it together at first and since you prefer interlocking, do that after your baby root and more mature has time to really merge...keep us posted...and btw you, your locs, skin, and smile are gorgeous and pretty 😊✊🏾

loc'D ALWAYS they’re not really long enough for me to tie them officially yet...but once they do I’ll prob do it loosely...no weak locs as of yet...they’re all pretty strong ☺️

Yes!! I literally did this like 2-3 times & ended up with a SUPER bald spot on my scalp near the loc I was using to tie it all together 😭

Okay so my bald spot came specifically from me using my own hair to tie the rest of my hair back 😩 does anyone know if it’s still safe for me to retwist my hair while I have this one bald spot? I haven’t retwisted since like March, simply because I’m afraid to manipulate it.

Lovely sis! Careful with the retwist and interlock combo. I interlocked for 2 years. I started not liking how small and tight (not fluffy) my locs began to look. So for the next 10 years (before I cut that set of locs) I palm rolled. My palm rolled locs were much thicker and less dense (fluffier) than the interlocked portion. It was an *obvious* difference. I eventually cut off the interlocked ends. So if you notice a difference in how portions of the same loc looks, it could be due to the different maintenance techniques.

luvlocs06 yea I have noticed that....I think I’m gonna interlock only a couple times in the year.. I’ve got two types of textures goin on and the palm roll works for one but doesn’t work for the looser hair...still tryna figure it out
