You`re missing the most popular and the best 3-button controller - MK-1650-50 with red button, but not sure about model number of the same controller for the Genesis. It has the best D-pad of all 3-button joypads. And of course, the 6-button legend - SJ-6000. With these two, and possibly wireless, you can forget about any other one`s, since they are not worth any attention unfortunately.

3:01 I have but smaller controller and wired. I also got one with multi switches you don’t. I got one 3 button with one switch One 6 button with blue on bottom, orange across the top. Someone said was a vintage Sega clone. I got an arcade pad not shown And another after mrkt controller brand new in package I gotta go through pile to remember. I was looking to see rarest Sega controllers, after market, clones included. Interesting video 👍🏻

The SG ProPad was always my favorite. It is the most comfortable sega controller i ever used. If it were 6 button it would be perfect.

3 years later with the rise of recent retro hardware, I'd put the Retro-bit Big 6 near the top. That along with arcade stick I make using recycled controllers ^_^

I'm finding myself confused about the difference between the "Competition Pro", "Champion", and "Champ" versions of basically the same 3-button controller. I have an NES Competition Pro controller like the three of them and mostly find it comfy.

If the wireless 6 button had a wire option 😞 it is the best

There is a wireless Sega official 6-button controller with infrared, it was very carefully engineered, slightly different from SJ-6000 and fully Made in Japan. I have one set for EU :)

There's an aftermarket Retrobit non-IR version of it marketed as the "Big 6" (I think it comes in wired, 2.4 Ghz, and Bluetooth?). Feels mostly pretty great but the face buttons feel a little uneven (in a way that they aren't on the OG wired Sega 6-button) and my R button got jacked up after a few weeks.

When you were talking about the sega 6 button you said menu button, did you mean mode button?

Yeah mode button, its usually used to access menus in the few games I've actually used it for so that's why I said that prolly lol. Thanks for watching!

Retro Sunday which games? I dont think ive ever used that button except during startup to make it work like a 3 button on the few games that dont like the 6 button controller

@@mikel6989 You can use it to deny 6 button access for games that are not compatible. But, I just tried "The Lost Vikings" and the mode button is used to access the top left menu in game. Also, if you google the button a few sites have a list of compatible games and what the button does. Usually just an easy way to add another button or make it easier to access a menu :D

It's a lengthy list and I've seen as super rare stuff as of late that I'm not sure was mentioned. The Genesis controller port was the same as Atari 2600 and several famiclone models so you'll see some odd ones. The standard 6 button by Sega or a third party retro version of most 6 button controllers are my go to.
