This Aqua thanks you, Christina. I walked away from this extremely controlling, entitled and disrespectful Leo a couple of weeks ago and cut everything off. I realized I had asked several times for him to stop talk8ng to me the way he was, and he didn't care enough to not only apologize but to actually stop the behavior. So I literally stopped asking and said goodbye. That decision was immedietely confirmed by his response that he would "just find someone else." Clarity in 100 foot tall flashing neon. I was incredibly calm and told him that was a "good idea." And I actually meant it. No acrimony, no anger, no fighting. This was just surrender to the fact that we are oil and water, not a match and not a fight I want to involve myself in. It was toxic because we don't mesh. I immedietely felt lighter, centered and frankly, relieved. Just putting it all down and walking my own path alone at this time, was the best thing for my self-care. I actually wish him well. I truly hope he finds his happiness and the courage to heal his underlying trauma and pain. But I also recognized staying with him was destructive to both of us. Sometimes, as painful as it can be you just need to give up and surrender. Because it's healthier than staying and destroying each other and ourselves in the process. Lesson learned.
