The term "victory garden" was used during WWII as the government tried to ensure that the soldiers had plenty to eat. Ordinary people grew gardens, big or small, and traded food with each other. England, which imported most of its food, grew food in every small plot; old beautiful gardens were repurposed to grow food, not flowers.

Before discarding clothes, remove the buttons and zippers. Use the remaining for quilt scraps or cleaning rags.

Cooking at home! People really don't realize how much money they will save until they ditch the restaurants and drive thru.

There are cities who don't allow people to have clotheslines! They don't realize it but it's a good way to go green.

Watermelon rind. Cut the red part out. Peel the dark green off, it’s a little tough. But you cook the white part like a veggie.

I hang my towels up in the bathroom. Work fine for a couple of towels. So they’re not in the dryer with the rest of the clothes

Line dry the washing and, when possible, air clothes in the sun.

Your average person can't sow clothes! Maybe a blanket or table cloth or sow on buttons...

Years ago, my stepson was crying. I asked what was wrong and he said his pajamas had a tear. His mama would throw them out. Took 2 minutes to fix.I will never forget how surprised he was. I gained hero status
