Totally agree with everything you say. I have been frugal for years and people don't understand it. They have called me miserly, tight fisted, and then in the next breath ask me how i can afford to travel. It used to bother me. It doesn't anymore. I am happy with my life.

I never embraced frugality as integral to budgeting. Now at the age of 75 I still have to reconcile one with the other.
