Historians: "This is the daftest siege I have ever heard of." Syracusans: "But you have heard of it."

I highly encourage people to read up on this campaign. It was just NUTS.

Fun fact: the bodyguard unit you chose as brasidas will have his name (I believe it is Brasidasio) in this scenario (and I believe onwards as well). Implying that those are the ones to carry on his legacy and that maybe Lysander will also do so. Whilst if you pick the raiders, you more clearly reject what Brasidas stood for.

So what choice would be more accurate for Lysander here, if I may ask? The way campaign is portraying, those 2 are way opposite in characters.
@Zandgaiaaka4 күн бұрын
@lanh.7573 definitely the raiders, it becomes clear throughout the rest of the campaign essentially. But you can see it in this mission already how he doesn't care much for his legacy or ideas whilst the governor cares very much.

@@Zandgaiaaka Hm I though Lysander would show a little respect for his former leader. I was not sure if they show it correctly, maybe I'll have to start looking into Peloponnesian War. Thank you.

Also refers to a group of freed helots who got said freedom for fighting for him in Thracia and Makedon (you will note if you look at source Brasidas won decisively there with mercs, freed helots, allies, but no Spartans homioi to speak of)... And got '''rewarded''' with the suckiest frontier lands Sparta could offer to them (where they always settled the freed helots for those kind of deals, called also Neodamodes), while of course not getting to the cool kids table of the Spartan homoioi.

25:28 Reference to the fact Gilyppus got exiled out of Sparta/Fled Sparta later in the Peloponesian War for helping himself to a part of the loot of Lysander's later victories. Also, It helps the Athenians' main mastermind of the whole fiasco, Alcibiades, was a freaking overrambitious traitor not afraid of sabotaging the war effort and selling out athens for his personal benefit (he also lost to Lysander at sea later in the war).

Imo this scenario is really good. But me the dum dum didn't notice u can just go around the athenian army to destroy the lumberjacks so i spent 10 minutes trying to break through the army and then 30 minutes spamming water units until i sniped the teal forts and they resigned. I feel like Viper when he sunk the fleet of Constantinople before he captured it in Barbarossa 5

The Sicilian Expedition was an Athenian military expedition to Sicily, which took place from 415-413 BC during the Peloponnesian War between Athens on one side and Sparta, Syracuse and Corinth on the other. The expedition ended in a devastating defeat for the Athenian forces, severely impacting Athens.

Lysander is really like an edgy teenager in this Campaign except he's somehow a army commander

The whole beginning of this scenario is so goofy with the whole wall race.

Does anyone think that Lysander is possibly the Daemon Targaryen of the spartans? Just a thought.

The way you played this scenario really makes me look stupid ngl haha. I defeated the blue first by endlessly spamming infantry and scorpions and since i didn't destroy those storehouses the amount of troops blue keeps spawning is crazy. Also for the olympian temple part i dont think it provided any advantage as after killing the troops your ally has the temple and after tributing some stone they just build some walls and towers in that mountain area

Okay, this will be a late reply, but let me tell you what happens when you destroy the lumber camps because that was my approach. You don't need to destroy blue's army or forts to destroy the lumber camps, actually. When I discovered the spot where you built your additional shipyards and docks where supply ships also sailed, I realized I could send my army to lumber camps from that way instead of building shipyards and docks, and that's what I did after destroying some walls. Then, I destroyed their lumber camps and got that temple, which boosted my units, and then, their navy just shrank. They couldn't train any strong ships, so the campaign became easier. Going for lumber camps could also be easier than your method since you can take out their storehouses more easily.
