On the first play from scrimmage, Josh Gaines forced a P.J. Hill fumble that Sean Lee recovered and it was all downhill for Penn State with fullback Matt Hahn scoring from 1-yard out. Wisconsin followed a Kevin Kelly FG with their lone score of the game - a 1-yard TD run by Hill - but Penn State responded with a spetacular 29-yard TD pass from Anthony Morelli to Deon Butler and a 19-yard TD run by Evan Royster to take a commanding 24-7 lead into intermission. In the 3rd-quarter Rodney Kinlaw scored from 2 yards out and backup quarterback Daryll Clark closed out the scoring with a 1-yard sneak late in the 4th-quarter.
PSU QB Anthony Morelli completed 16 of 28 passes, for 216 yards and 1 TD. He was assisted by a dominant ground game (221 yards) that was led by RB's Rodney Kinlaw (23 carries for 115 yards and 1 TD) and Evan Royster (8 carries for 68 yards and 1 TD). Deon Butler led PSU in receiving with 7 receptions for 93 yard and 1 TD while Terrell Golden hauled in 5 passes for 83 yards.
A dominant Penn State defense held the Badgers to a season-low 87 rushing yards and also recorded 5 sacks - two of which were by 2007 1st-team All-Big10 sophmore DE Maurice Evans. Senior All-American LB Dan Connor and junior LB Sean Lee paced Penn State with 12-tackles apiece. Lee racked up 2 tackles-for-loss and 1 FR and Connor recorded 1.5 TFL. Corner Lydell Sargeant posted 8 tackles, 1 interception and 2 pass-breakups.

The victory marked the 368th win of Joe Paterno's career.
