Truthbetold, I play football in high school as well as a small NAIA school in college. Sure I didn't play NCAA ball, but I know football very well. I believe your loyalty to the Sooner nation blinds your ability to see the truth. Bosworth was cool character in college, but he was a lot similar to the old Big 10 linebackers Pat Fitzgerald and Andy Katzenmoyer. Great athletes, but marginal football players, Andy being better than the other two. Watch this video again and you will see how UNSOUND of a football player Bos was. Which is precisely why he was not successful as a pro. When you respond to me, respond with substance.

the Game against Miami in 1986 , that was the Best Game a Linebacker could Play . B. B. had like 22 tackles against the University of Miami Hurricanes in Florida

If there was a stat for negative yards created he would probably own that NCAA record. When he blitzed he was in the backfield with reckless abandon on QBs and RBs. His closing speed was insane quick.

There is an EXTREME amount of "behind-the-scenes" PAIN Bosworth had to deal with for so many years. Nobody talks about that.

Doctors said at 22 tears old he had a 63 year old shoulder. He had a law suit over NFL insurance that was bought thru Loyds of london. they were saying it was degenerate arthritis, and Boz was saying it was from massively hard hits that took they're toll. they settled.

I rate him the best college LB I've ever seen.

Bosworth was probably the best college linebacker I ever saw play period. He could play today if he was of college age and still be a All American. He was not a bust in the NFL. His pro career was cut short by knee injuries. His rookie year was very good. Yeah Bo Jackson ran him over, but no one talks about the tackels for losses he had on Bo.

He was A badass player. Kids used to get The Boz haircut all over the US.

I remember being at a OU vs K-State game in Norman, Brian sacked the quarterback, dragged him back several yards , then stood over him yelling with his finger in his face. Flags flying ,15yds. Didn't matter, he got into that guy's head and he couldn't keep his eyes off Brian for the rest of the game.

that boy could play, say what you want about the guy but the man made plays. btw I'm sick of hearing people talk about that Bo Jackson play. Bo Jackson was great no doubt but he didn't run over Boz. There wasn't a linebacker in the league that could stop Bo on a dime. Boz just happened to tackle him one yard too late

I love that everyone mentions Bo Jackson running over him. Bo was lower and drove him back, happens to LB all the time. Good run. But to slam Boz for being juiced up, but thinking Bo wasn't juiced up, is a joke. Bo's injury running downfield, guy grabs Bo's leg, and Bo rips his leg free, and rips his muscle from the bone of his leg? That doesn't just happen normally no matter how much you work out. He was strong, but Bo knows steroids.

A smart, subtle take of the kind you aren't going to get from a bunch of random fools making internet comments. People are always so desperate to claim athletes had no skill outside of roids because it makes them feel bigger to tear someone down. But this guy's skills were incredibly obvious! And that bit about Bo's leg is hilarious.
