Some of these jobs seem interesting but what really surprises me is how many of them are at or below minimum wage Minimum wage is 48,000 a year survival wage is $40,000 a year The majority of these are below those. But I guess for some of them the cost of entry is pretty low and the more specialized ones do of course pay more
@daikaji3833 Жыл бұрын
Where are you from? Where I am, $48k is way higher than min wage
@nerys71 Жыл бұрын
@@daikaji3833 in the United States we have 5 minimum wages You have minimum wage which is about $24 an hour which is not enforced anywhere in the country Then you have federal minimum wage which is $7.25 then you have federal tip minimum wage which is $2.13 then you have state minimum wage which of course varies by state and then you also have local minimum wage this could be a minimum wage that is different than the state minimum wage per county or city. I don't really care about the other four minimum wages I only care about the one actual minimum wage and technically even that's not entirely correct as minimum wage supposed to be enough for a family at this point I'd be happy just to have minimum wage be high enough for a single individual that number is $24 an hour in the cheapest parts of the country only.
@nerys71 Жыл бұрын
@@daikaji3833as for your minimum wage and what 48k means to you that is relative A living wage is enough income to pay for your most basic necessities of life to live as a common person in a common typical average location This number will be quite different and for example rural New Mexico where $24 would be a living wage versus New York City where $24 wouldn't even be a poverty wage versus parts of the Asian continent where $24 would allow you to live like a king So you would have to figure out what your minimum wage is depending on where you live and what the cost of living is there and the value of your local currency In the United States it is easier to calculate survival wage versus living wage or minimum wage which are supposed to be the same thing by definition Survival wage is relatively easy to calculate it's $20 an hour No one can survive anywhere in the United States or less than $20 an hour unless they execute a certain level of cheat codes or assistance in one form or another. I don't actually think $20 an hour is even viable you would have to have perfect health and your vehicle would have to never have a major breakdown while not impossible it's not probable but it's the closest I could come and that's only for the cheapest parts of the country. Do a search on KZbin for mind of nerys I have a playlist called wages watch those videos and that will explain in detail where I'm coming from I bring receipts you can validate and confirm all the numbers that I come up with.

I have a question about the Subject Matter Expert role. There is something very unique that I am an expert in. For the last 22 years I've been a Street Magician! I have developed extremly strong communication skills, public speaking, witt and charisma and I'm an expert in reading people and developing quick, strong relationships with people. How the heck do I monetize my expertise? I already do gigs and busking but I want to develope a side huslter as a street performer's cunsultant or helping people learn to overcome their fear of public speaking.

Sounds like you could segue into "Empowerment Coaching". Helping people to overcome their fears and limiting beliefs to improve their lives. Think TED Talk. Good luck!!

If you can put your expertise into a teachable format AND a simple way to express what you can offer, maybe a Skillshare course would be a way to go.

Meaning it's NOT a free course. It costs $499. It's "free" to create an account, but after watching some teaser content, you have to pay to finish and receive all the promised perks.
