I have actually played Brandon way before he became a GM OTB in tournaments. I basically faced him when he was 1900, then 2100, and man he had outplayed me in all of those games, I only won the first two times we encountered, then he beat me on the third encounter. If I played against him now he would for sure beat me lol. I am no where near GM level.

That guy in the background should not be around guest players. He's very confrontal and annoying and starts talking about things that shouldn't be around the chessboard. And the second guy asking about rating was rude.

The guy asking Brandon what’s your opinion on something definitely sounded like Kai. It started around 5:27 where he asked about the Dutch then asked about something I didn’t understand. And at @5:50 he said “Yeah, I would want to forget that game too”, which sounded insulting to me

Personally, I feel like it's in really bad taste to ask anyone their rating in a casual environment playing friendly chess. That guy was being real annoying. The kid obviously didn't want to tell his rating so leave it alone.

@@jcmoral1978 a couple of weeks ago some dudes were playing in a bar and I asked if I could get winner and the guy goes , "what's your rating" ? The whole point of this channel is to be an asshole to your opponent in a respectful way. This felt far more fitting that "Mr H" just sitting laughing knowing nobody can beat him. No offense to Hikaru but he doesnt really understand the ethos of the channel. He's just one of the best ever coming to play some games, this felt far more natural and entertaining IMO
@EzPz44 Жыл бұрын
Not "far more natural" IMO. Mr.H is cool & respectful while winning at 5 to 1 time odds. This guy comes off...differently. Did you catch his game yesterday with Mike? Now THAT was condescending. Also, I've never thought of this channel as ,"How to be a jerk & play chess in a respectful manner.'' Different strokes as they say...
