No validation from your parent(s) can lead to poor decision making. It's like trying to catch the wind, you try to find fulfillment from so many things and people when all you really need is your parent's unconditional love.

If there ever was a case it certainly was this one where the child was the victim this one is it for me. Her mother sounds completely unstable. She was abandoned to foster care when she knew she had family for 5 and 1/2. Knowing all that time that her father denied her. and she's going to be judged for having anger issues and getting into trouble as a teenager. There is some serious lack of compassion going on

I agree that paternity testing should be mandatory... or at least it should be as cheap and frequent as pregnancy testing. However, under the system of capitalism that we live, that is unlikely to happen anytime soon unless it becomes an issue of political advocacy to get legislative bodies to pass laws requiring it. DNA testing costs 300-500 bucks, and makes for profitable clinics and TV shows. There is so much money to be made off of people's paternity questions. Consequently, the powers that be have no interest in making this a reality. America profits from people's pain and broken lives.
