Where can we see the number of applicants for a particular occupation code already in que for 190 for a particular state? There is no point in applying otherwise. The information is not so transparent, or at least properly listed.

Dear N B, Thank you for your inquiry. As you would have been aware that a s/c 190 visa application needs pre-approval of a nomination from a state government of Australia, and each state government has its own demand for occupations/professions; the process of s/c 190 invitations is pretty much driven by the need of each state government, there is no specific information available to the Department in regards to number of candidates under each occupation group waiting for state nomination approvals unfortunately

If I can see in the document Freedom of Information Request FA 19/09/01772 The numbers of EOI in "submitted" status for each occupation of visa subclass 189 in each 70 points, 75 points, 80 points, 85 points, 90 points and 95 points categories, as at 18 September 2019. We can clearly see the approximate applicants and estimate chances based on scores of 190. Obviously there are going to many eois submitted for a particular code. The chances are quite bleak considering the amount of applicants. Maybe only 2 to 3 % of the people who have high scores succeed.

Question, for Skilled Visa 190, do I still need a Police Clearance requirements if I stayed in Aus. for 6mos only as a Tourist Visa? If YES, do i need a Police Clearance with finger print or just a regular Police Clearance?

Hi thank you for your video. One question please: how would you as a professional migration agent rate my chance? I have 75 point on the calculator on the 190 visa. I am a certified Tiler (25) from germany with 4 years work experience in the construction business (3,5 years) in the tiling business. I did a 3 years apprentice ship in tiling and got my qualification this year. But while this 3 year I was working every day at the construction site, that means I collected work experience at the same time while learning. That's the way it works in germany. Whats your opinion? My total points are 60 (without state nomination). Is there is a chance for (190visa) to apply considering 60 + 5 (state nomination) = 65? Please advice.

Thanks for your inquiry Muhammad. It is possible to receive an invitation from the Department under s/c 190 visa stream with 65 points in total, subject to the state government approving your state nomination request. Many factors would affect your eligibility to be approved with state nomination including: state government you wish to be nominated; whether your occupation is in strong demand by the state; number of candidates in the systems under the same occupation group and the migration points other candidates can achieve.

Hi Anoop, It depends on which state government you prefer for your state nomination process. For example, if you prefer New South Wales to be the nominating state, it would depend on how soon the NSW State Government would issue you an invitation for state nomination before you can receive an invitation from the Department.

we have completed masters in accounting from sydney and going to apply TR. So, while in TR we are planning to move Darwin and study Diploma in Leadership management and advance diploma in leadership management. So I’ve heard that after studying 2 years in Darwin, we can apply for 190 and need not to do jobs in related occupation. Is this correct? It would be really helpful if you could

Whilst it is possible for a candidate to receive an invitation from NSW state government with 60+5 points, it will depend on how many candidates are in the same process competing with you. The higher points you can achieve, the higher chance you would have.

Is cutoff for accountants applicable on 190 and 489 also ? Or the cutoff is only applicable to 189?

Hi Anu The cutoff point score for accountants is applicable to subclass 189 skilled independent visa and subclass 489 visa sponsored by candidates’ family, it does not apply to subclass 190 state nominated visa or subclass 489 visa nominated by state government. However, due to the highly competitive nature for accountants under subclass 189 visa pathway, it would also likely affect the subclass 190 and subclass 489 nomination process.
