Somewhat incongruous seeing a 1904 car trundle through quintessentially American suburbia :-) Fantastic insight into pioneer motoring and engineering solutions. Brilliant stuff.

Beautiful. It's nice she's driving an not sitting but sounds like she's a lil cold natured as all were back when. You have done the name proper

Every one needs, once in their lives to experience the open air, smell of oil from a total loss system and the clicking of coils to really experience early motoring. And I am not joking, it is amazing stuff

You should take it to the London to Brighton road race!!! You would have a winner on your hands easily!

That was pretty cool to watch, I'm fascinated by these early machines. Excellent walkthrough of the engineering. I wonder if it's eligible for the London to Brighton vintage car run, at least the steering wheels on the right side.

Any car built before the end of 1904 can enter the LBR, as long as its reasonably original.

At 8:15 when the car starts it shakes the entire street as if it were on a trampoline.. must be a very heavy car to turn concrete into rubber!

Seems like a much better car then fords 1903 A or Cadilacs 1904. I wonder what the actual price was, I think the A went for 850.

You have a sharp eye. It is indeed a 1906 Darracq model R2. Thanks for watching

Am Media my father has a 1909 2 cylinder. We drove it from Perth to Sydney in 2012 to rein-act the first crossing of Australia (100th year anniversary). In 2014 we crossed Adelaide to Darwin. Apart from clutch wear (slipping) and a couple of flat tyres it ran well. I’d love to see a video of your Darracq sometime. All the best.

2 cylinder "motor" , really, gee I thought motors were electric or hydraulic tell me when did a engine become a motor?. The point is, if you are going to speak about technical things, please use the CORRECT GOD DAMNED WORD.
