My heart breaks for Barbara and her daughters and all the other home owners. She is so right how is she going to find another home that could come close to that beautiful old place. I hope she took what plants she could, her garden was magnificent.

it breaks my heart to see all these beautiful old homes destroyed. I was born in Henley Beach in 1950 and my relatives all had houses like these. I and shocked when I see the square, ugly boxes that have replaced them. My sympathies go out to all these homeowners.

I sure hope the government didn't send Barbara to one of those stacked pidgeon hole boxes they're bulding these days. Thanks for the tour Paul! Stayin Tuned! 👍🤠 🇺🇸

Thanks again,such a beautiful home bites the dust. Homes impact our lives. Losing your home could add years to you and affect your health. As a garden lover I watch the devastation of gardens. It would be good to have garden/plant salvage, too. Cheers to all, Jenny Adelaide South Australia 😊

This was really sad when people had to leave their nice homes for the tunnel to be put through where all of these houses are and to move elsewhere in order to make way for the eventual tunnel but hope everything turns out good in the future I've been enjoying looking at these places and getting a chance to see before they are all demolished take care and have a great weekend and until next time thanks again.🧋👍🇦🇺

Is it possible to move these older homes to a new location?
@patriciasamalens98404 сағат бұрын
@bchooper56033 сағат бұрын
There isn't going to be any recovery of these houses. They are going be torn down and the material from them are only going to landfills.

A $30,000. Dollar premium should be paid above the established fair market value for all at the mercy of progress.

This is such a sin to take people’s homes away from them. No amount of compensation can make up for it. These homes have stood for decades if not centuries. Really, really sad and maddening, especially after seeing soo many people lose their homes in Los Angeles. It’s been heartbreaking seeing them return to what were their beloved homes to try and salvage what they can. The world is being destroyed.

Yip ~ government doesn’t give 2F’s about people ~ it’s always about $$ for government and $$ that sadly the home owners aren’t going to see!!😢😢

How devastating for these people to be forced to give up their homes for a stupid roads development. You’ll never get these homes back again. History is being wiped out
@loubowen6649Сағат бұрын
All I will say is the only way I would move is for the city to move all my trees and plants to be transplanted to my new house outside of the city. But the IDIOTS with the paint should be prosiquited and spend a lot of time helping move my plants. But that would have been after I showed them the way people were punishing out behind the Barn.
@JulieN01-01Сағат бұрын
It is just horrible. Why couldn't they move the homes? It's a crime.
@urbexindigo5164Сағат бұрын
Brick and stone homes are far more different and difficult to move than weather board ones plus being in the suburbs makes it even harder and more expensive so it's not worth it unless absolutely important heritage building. Itt can be done but no one sees it as viable. In the country it's easy with weather board homes.
@PeterFrangio-jp6nx3 сағат бұрын
Mate, I really appreciate you being the custodian of history, but it's depressing viewing of late. As you rightly stated, all those trees, plants and land that's sustained life all gone. Brutal. Humanities going in the wrong direction, and with each year we're descending quicker into oblivion.
@urbexindigo5164Сағат бұрын
Hi Peter, yes the unfortunate thing for most of these homes I film in the suburbs is that they are destined for demolition 😒 Cheers for watching 👍😁

8:30 Be careful what you say, maybe Barbara did it, maybe it was neighborhood kids. I wouldn't put it past myself either. "If I can't have my nice place, no one can."
@bchooper56033 сағат бұрын
The former owners wouldn't do that since it wouldn't make a difference. These houses are going to be torn down and the material from them is going to go to landfills.
