Gorgeous home, love that all the woodwork and cabinetry matched. Someone put a lot of time and money into that home. 😢 The knotty flooring is to die for!

Some Asian influence....? ie. possibly re the house's previous inhabitants? Quite an expensive outlay by the Gov't (to reclaim, reimburse owners, then to demolish!...on top of the cost of new tunnel)? Still, such a sad loss of a lovely home...

These OLD buildings 👷♀️ is what sets new heights!! Not the junk they build today. Even if it had to be the fake version of these homes 🏡, I'd rather see the fake copies go in by the real ones. Ya may have to contend with having smaller yards, or seeing less of your house 🏠 from the street, but I'd rather see this at best 👌. If developers could do it that way, we all just may have a win-win situation. Your friend, Jeff.

Yes, that's a lot of interesting stuff, there. Looks like 👍 they tried to make a generator, powered by bicycle 🚲. I think 🤔 I'd keep what I find worthwhile, before it's all pushed 🫸 into a pile, and taken away by developers. Your friend, Jeff.

At 123 years old, this house 🏠 should be saved, but, once again, I know exactly what I'm going to hear. I wish 🤞 it were illegal 😪 to sell the land that all of these houses sit on. Your friend, Jeff.

The outside of this old classroom brought back memories of my misspent High School youth at Woodville High, Adelaide. There were quite a few of these old "temporary" classrooms in the school grounds. Around 1957, 2nd year or year 9, we had a teacher, Mr. "Pinhead" Bourke. Very liberal with the cane, Mr. Bourke used to wear army boots to school & would stomp his way around the classroom. The floor was SO rotten, that one day, Pinhead went through the floor was only visible from about the waist up. I absolutely defy anyone not to have laughed in that situation. Of course, anyone who did laugh was given a "jolly good thrashing" as a reward. Luckily, Mr. Bourke was facing away from where I was sitting...🤣🤣🤣🤣

Very interested in those old prices in the 1973 paper, Paul! We recently had coffee & cake in an old bakery in Burra, in our mid-north. They have a display of memorabilia. One of which was a framed shopping docket from 1937. A pound (half a kilo) of butter: 1shilling & 4pence halfpenny, "haypenny" (15cents)...

Still gradually working my way through your prolific volume of work, Paul! Not much else to do on a Sunday in Adelaide when it's 38(C) in the shade...Glad you checked the old dunny! Caused me to think about the long-drop dunny at very isolated & lonely Bathurst Harbour in Tassie. Red back spiders & QUACKING frogs in residence. I woulda been safer going behind a bush...🤣😂

Thanks Paul, another exquisite home bites the dust. There are so many features, I have one of those doors in my 1950s home. It was on the toilet, with saw tooth top, which was on a breezway attached to the house. It now resides as my laundry door. It's a great talking point. Cheers bye Jenny of Adelaide South Australia

Paul, this is another beautiful, well love home. It is very sad for these families to have to give them up for road work. I bet they the cities planners don't go to very expensive home areas and do this to their areas for road work. Look at the historical value that is being lost forever. Makes me sick and mad for these people. Thanks for sharing another one. Vegas here 🇺🇸

And.....another one turns to dust..... perfect condition, the restoration would have taken ages. I think all those doors and trims were all 'white washed' at some stage. Considering what I’ve heard about the shortage of housing in Australia how will these people ever find anything anywhere near this size and beauty? It looks like they put so much into creating this beautiful home and then get it ripped out from under them by the government and “progress”.😢 I truly feel for these people.

Hi Paul - I've got to catch up on your videos. It's a shame that the homes just can't be moved. It's a crime distorting all those beautiful homes. But like you said at least folks can see them here. Do you guys have any crazy looking drones flying around in Australia like we have in the U.S. now? Just wondering. It's 31 degrees here in Maryland -- then you pop into the shed and state how warm it was 😊 I use my little heater that looks like a fireplace -- saves a ton of money - We'll try to stay cool..... ❤

@urbexindigo5164 OMG!! Is there a way I could show you some pictures -- mom-ma - me -ah !😊 I moved to another apt. - you know how you go through stuff & throw out 'stuff' -- ok that's normal -- long story short -- after finding coins I had to hide around my apt. because of not having descent security well now I've got a regular big suitcase filled with coins-- no joke! This is how I looked trying to pick the suitcase up😵💫-- 😂Not kidding! You be-bop metal detecting - ya find tons of junk but there's times you find 'goodies'. I wish we could metal detect the places you film at, think about it, like the house you just filmed - sure the house was 'fixed up' & so on-- but look how long that house was there-- how many have lived there-- the town didn't always look to like it did-- right? Remember the home you filmed that was like in the middle of no where & the home has been there for many of years-- even if the floors are broken out -- there are times that folks have hidden 'goodies' under floors-- inside the bottom thick first railings sometimes the top comes off-- or stuff is hidden inside fire places or grandfather clocks & so on. A right treasure hunt huh?!😉👍 The above are just some little suggestions. I haven't been metal detecting much lately - mostly still finishing going through the last bits of 15 yrs of being in the same apartment & mostly tossing stuff but also STILL finding bits of (found) coins in pockets of old clothes - even have found metal detected coins in like Western boots! 👢& --(ALSO-- lots of rings!!) It's like a fun Easter Bunny egg (coin) hunt😀😁😂 Thanks Paul !!!! If you had a post box I could send you some coins & rings. If I sent the coins I'd send the history info found on 'em.(only good 'stuff' of course😉😉) You're reminding me to really to get back into sorting the coins out & finding out what they might be worth. AND.... it sure would be great to sell some coins and get to visit you in beautiful Australia 🦘 🦘 🦘 and give you a really good metal detector \pointer & shove & pack & extra batteries -- that would be soooooo GREAT !!! I'm so glad we've been mates for years now-- it sure would be fun to maybe meet you one day & maybe metal detect abit? Be prepared to find alot of junk -- BUT-- ya never know what you might find. Sure the 'value' is nice but I what also is really Kool is the history that could be attached to something....Say an old miner cup-- WOW-- you wonder what happened to the folks at a mine or the person's old cabin. OPPS!! This comment is like a small 📚 book ! I'll get back to metal detecting when it warms up a bit -- Well stay safe in fantastic 🤳Aussie 🦘 🦎🐊--land ... ( I'm stuck in Marry--🐸🦆🪿land😉) In Maryland/Chesapeake we mostly have birds🦀🦉🦅while you guys have 🦑ahh🐙ahh🪼run!!🦈 😵💫😊😁 Hope I made ya 😊 smile. 😊🍻😁 Cheers Matey🫶 Sending tons of good wishes
