A beauty and thanks for sharing it, I studied up the bike industry a bit and it was such a big deal in the late 1800s that it started everyone making bikes and then after the industry got saturated all kinds of other things started being produced, and it made America very mechanical minded. every smart kid was building something , and then of course motors were added and a whole new industry.. Just imagine some guy on that bike in 1910, Be like having your own jet today .

Ya they got around 183 miles to the gallon not bad especially knowing how low the compression is and the how low the octane was in fuel was back then sweet ride I’m currently working on procuring a 1917-1925 twin cam 8 valve for the motorcycle cannonball lots of planning probably start the build in 4 years and be ready to race in ten

Compared to cars in 1910 this thing looks like a piece of cake to start and use. Not TOO different from a modern bike, a Ford Model T for instance has nothing in common with a modern car!
@sergeantbigmac
@sergeantbigmac 9 жыл бұрын
zac Ya you got that right. This seems pretty simple... I still dont understand how to start a Model T, let alone drive one. It seems like there are 5 different levers that have to be in exactly the right position just to get it to turn over LOL. confusing...
@ARCHIE8159
@ARCHIE8159 8 жыл бұрын
+sergeantbigmac I guess the only guy that truly understood how to start and drive the old model t's back in the day would be the guy who cobbled it together. Henry Ford himself. Like you say sarge, it's a very confusing automobile to operate.
@nivlick
@nivlick 6 жыл бұрын
I don’t think cars of 1910 are that hard to start. Adjust spark, turn on fuel, pull choke turn crank handle and with any luck it should start with the first turn of the handle. We had a 1910 Chrysler it was a piece of cake with very low compression it started very easy.

Is this a total lost spark? Meaning it has a battery you have to keep recharging every so often? I do not see any charging system. I would give my right you know what just to drive one. Thanks Jeff
@Jeff46u
@Jeff46u 10 жыл бұрын
Yes I understand about this what I am asking there is not any sort of charging system I am guessing so I am guessing you have to charge the battery every so often and my question if this is so how often do you have to charge the battery? I know they made both battery and magneto ignition my question is about the battery since there is not a charging system. I am looking for a 1910 to 1912 single to build and in my 44 years of none working on and riding Harley s I will be riding mine fairly often like I have all my old bikes. No not as often as my 02 rig which is my only transportation but I will still ride it at least 4 or 5 times a month. Thanks Jeff

I love this machine, but I can not buy one, you have a technical document with dimentions?. Diameter frame tubes, diameter of crankshaft, piston, outer diameter of motor cases. I'm gathering information to build a model in my home workshop. Another model that interest me is the 1905. I am grateful for any information. Thank for your work
