No wonder Jim didn't mind getting rid of the pick up he had a huge gold nugget waiting for him, what a beauty of a Studebaker. I don't know if this will be controversial or not but I think ol Jim might should get a piece of the pie when he is on these vids. Maybe do some merch with his likeness and some of his sayings "I only have money because I don't spend it." Or when all else fails try a muffin. and then kick him 60% of sales $$$. He really does bring a lot to the shows.

Hi Chad,A very knowledgeable gentleman, and if we all listen we will learn a lot, loved the conversation. The old 1917 Studebaker will be a great project to see completed. These cars/ trucks had a similar gear change to early Ford, not like later vehicles and control of speed was by a lever on the steering wheel if I remember correctly. My late mum was born a year before this vehicle, she was born 1916 and I remember her telling me how she used to drive similar vehicles from the farm to school at times.Other times she rode a horse to school. These old trucks were double clutch if my memory serves me correctly. Interesting listening to the conversation about grease.Learnt something today. Jim is a walking encyclopaedia. Thanks for your video.

My understanding is that a stainless steel swirl polished valves sodium filled with meridian valve seats bronze knurled guides is one of the better combinations for especially the types of engines you seem to be working with but all engines in general stainless steel valves hold up the bronze guides don't wear slots in them it gives a guy somewhere to repair something without having to replace both only bronze guides need replaced after that unless something is broken and make sure you use neoprene umbrella type seals not o-ring
