Eine katholische Kirche ohne Fernsehköchetheke! Wie wohltuend, die freie Sicht auf den Hochaltar! Und mit einer wunderbaren Orgel!

I like when you do the demo alone 😊

I totally agree, he demonstrates it like he is a professional organist

@@hammond1167 An organist would try to impone his/her taste upon the organ. He does it the other way, like a voicer or an organ builder would do: Brent tries to understand the intentions of the people who designed and made the organ, and this is the reason why these presentations are so good.

I totally agree!

The one thing that I wish they would add when demonstrating the organs is to put on full organ at some point so we could hear the full instrument.

Thanks for coming to my parish Church and doing this video! We love our organ so much! It isn’t as fancy as others I’ve seen, but we certainly use it a lot. Before Mater Dei FSSP moved in, it was more or less collecting dust and I wouldn’t be surprised if this organ was sold or scrapped with the building becoming an apartment complex. Again thanks for doing this video!

I passed this church! What a gorgeous organ!

Wow, Brent, if I would’ve knew you were in Harrisburg, I would’ve took you out for lunch I little couple towns over from Harrisburg about 30 minutes away. Maybe 45 depends on traffic. Town called Lebanon.

Excellent demonstration of an instrument that has been substantially altered and changed from its original plan and aesthetic.

Great demonstration. A nice change to see Brent "going solo" too. Really look forward to these videos, a great record and "snapshot in time" of these fabulous instruments.

Love the videos! I haven’t had the chance to renew my annual subscription but will do that soon. Thank you for all the work and time that you put into making these!

Nicely demonstrated. If my memory is right there’s a Lutheran church in Harrisburg with a rather large organ.
@zenasm.savage1999 Жыл бұрын
Hanover Lutheran has a massive Austin that's one of the largest in the world.
@johnanderson3700 Жыл бұрын
@@zenasm.savage1999 I believe that’s the one. I was with the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary Choir on tour. They greeted us with Dixie played on that massive organ. Seminary has replaced a rather awful Moller with a Tracker built I believe by Noack (sp?)

Well balanced Vox celestis. What are its intonation parameters please? 3 pipes are enough.

Love the instrument. I’ll take a vintage Dulciana over the Gemshorn though.
@paulh5293 Жыл бұрын
Agree, for my taste that Gemshorn needed a bit of attention - far too chiffy.

To my ears it sounds like wind pressures are probably higher than original. What's the action?

Good morning. I know of an organ that might be of interest for you to check out. Its in an empty church building that is now for sale. Built my Moller---rebuilt my Kilgen. I would love to hear what it sounds like . Its just sitting there in Pennsylvania in an empty building.... How do we get information to you about interesting organs??
@johnanderson3700 Жыл бұрын
Is that in a former Lutheran Church. My seminary choir sang in a Lutheran Church in Hsrrisburg with a large Moller years ago.
@ericalbany Жыл бұрын
A fine instrument, though there seems little left of the 1885 sound
@thebog11 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Great principal chorus is way too bright for 1885. Judging by the chamber tour, most of the pipes in the entire organ are new.

No! Sometime is the small instruments that are real gems!

Who plays anything on a organ on only one stop?
@jrorganbuilding Жыл бұрын
Yes, but that’s how you sample the ingredients. Also, there are many occasions where you may want to use just one stop.
@petermacander5039 Жыл бұрын
There is more to the tonal value of an organ than just the sound of a single or individual ranks. That seems to be missed in the approach to organs sampled and showcased in Organ Media programs. Of greater artistic importance in organ tonal design and voicing is the cohesive tonal blending of organ stops into ensembles by stops which, though tonally distinctive but well voiced, regulated and tuned, complement each other in creating a beautiful cohesive bouquet of sound. Putting a rank of pipes "on speech" is the relatively part. Tonal engineering ranks of pipes into a mutually complementary ensemble of beautiful sound is the ultimate test of voicing skill and experience. Disabling pipes from speaking betrays a lack of knowledge and skill in voicing, a common problem these days. This organ demonstration is a waste of time.

Well, I understand your point for the most part, they end up demonstrating how things combine and usually feature some full length pieces of organ literature as well.
