Really enjoying watching 1923 and one of the highlights of the show is the relationship between Alex and Spencer. Can't wait to see what happens when they get to Montana. I was surprised to hear that Julia actually does not have a British accent.

She's American and was raised around horses I read. She will be a natural, then, on a horse. Wonder if she will actually ride one or ride in a carriage?

there is a much better story than the one between Spencer and Alexandra, with a fantastic chemistry (perhaps the strongest of all films) between the protagonist actors, but your soul is torn and troubled by how many emotions the Turkish series called KARA SEVDA /Endless Love emanates aired 2015-2017

Alexandra looks like an Alphonse Mucha painting. Very Art Deco and a true eidetic image of the time period. This show went so far, including the music score with Alexandra scenes, they felt like a fond memory. Then producing irrational emotions like loss and heartbreak. Sweet and desperately bitter. Felt like Great Expectations, somehow. I suppose the last time a love story felt personal.

@@lyat5157 Yeah, it's not good. As an Englishman--what's with her voice/accent in the show. I get it's a posh one from the 1920s, but it's really odd. I don't think the accent is too bad per-say, it's more the way she speaks in the show, its bizarre. I'm not good with words so I cannot describe it properly. But it is very strange sounding, she changes the tone, speed, and pitch every few words or sentences, sounding like 3 different people. It's like she's often straining to talk. Very strange.

@@paftAs an American, I can tell you that 1.) I could tell she wasn’t really English in the first seen she was in, and 2.) The way you described it sounding so strange is exactly the way we feel when we listen to British actors attempting American accents. 98 percent of the time, they just sound….off……and very unnatural. I can always tell when a Brit is attempting an American accent.

Stupid how such a natural beauty should plaster herself with makeup. What’s that all about? It should only serve to improve looks not distort or hide it as in her case. As a Brit, I have to say her accent isn’t that good. However, I love her character and she’s a great actress. But most Americans struggle with the accent, so it’s not a problem really.

As an American, I can tell you that Brits are not good at doing American accents either. For some reason, they think they can, but 98 percent of the time, it just sounds off and very unnatural. I can always tell when a Brit is attempting an American accent. Scandinavian actors are better at it (not perfect), but Brits just……I can’t describe it, it just sticks out like a sore thumb. Every once and a while I’ll be pleasantly surprised, but very rarely.
