Fascinating to see! It was such a different sport back then. Sabre engagements were so much longer and with an extraordinary amount of incidental contact. I'm curious when then would consider calling a stop to the bout. Were they looking to score a clearly good hit? Also it seems like epee hadn't yet invented in-fighting.
