Excellent presentation. I was a resident student on the Saint Louis University campus in 1969-71. I was an organist at the St. Francis (College) Church almost directly across the street from the Scottish Rite Cathedral, but the building was (in my mind) a forbidden mystery. I wish I had known about the organ in the Scottish Rite Cathedral back then.

Great series and thanks to the staff and contributors. This building and its contents have such a historical significance that they deserve to be preserved as national treasures.

Another wonderful OMF video (series). I didn't expect to learn something about the Scottish Rite fraternity in a video about a pipe organ, it prompted me to visit Wikipedia.

After watching all three segments of this presentation, I am impressed with the fraternity as well as the organ. I am far too old and impetuous to be a member, but I have several good friends who are top-notch Masons.

Very interesting series of videos. I enjoyed every moment. I hope the building and instrument remain intact. I will look forward to other videos pertaining to Scottish Rite buildings and organs, particularly the Indianapolis location, if possible.

I loved every minute of this. Wow. I was feeling so much Wanamaker tone throughout. And those pristine chambers. Can't even guess how they got that 32' up there. Would love to hear that. Also to hear tutti organ. Thank you thank you!!

What a wonderful tribute. So glad that someone was able to present it before it was lost. The masonic temple in Salt Lake City has a large pipe organ. Sadly, it fell out of use and is being slowly sold for parts as a means to maintain the property. I wish I could hear it played just once before it is gone.

We have a Scottish Rite Consistory here in Des Moines, Iowa with a pipe organ, I'm unsure of the builder. There's also a former Shrine site that the city of Des Moines renovated into a performing arts center that is supposed to house a IV/49 Reuter, but I don't know that it's been played in years. btw, Your series of organ tours have inspired me to do some virtual organ crawls for our AGO Chapter. I'm going to be recording the first one this weekend, a Dobson in Indianola, IA that I'm told was the inspiration for the Unitarian Church in St. Louis's Dobson.

Three great organs within 3 blocks of each other. Nice. Makes me wonder if the former Moolah Shrine down the street had an organ. I know that St. Francis Xavier (College Church) shown at the very end pf the video, at one tie had a IV/96 Kilgen - but that was ripped out in the early 90's rather than being restored. Sad. Thanks for the series.

great video, I just want to know if this building is still for sale? or is it sold ? I buy churches and cathedrals, auditoriums, theatres, city halls all over the world, my main goal is to preserve the history and naturally the organs inside these beautiful buildings, please let me know, one good example, I own a church with 6 massive pipe organs

What a shame they’re selling out. It’s a wonderful organ with a rich history. Hope it will be preserved for posterity.

Closed caption shows 'Richard Pierre Elliott' designed the organ - it was Robert Pier Elliott.

I used to help maintain the Kimball theatre organ that was in the Wilturn theatre in Los Angeles. It was a close cousin to this instrument. Sadly it was removed in 1986 and broken up for parts. I have felt as though a piece of my body was taken from me ever since. Musical instruments deserve being saved.

I think he mentioned at the end there that it had been completely dormant since the virus.
