Ottawa TR Drag Saw Restoration Part 2. continued with removing the piston, freeing the piston rings. The cylinder bore was cleaned and lightly honed then the piston reinstalled. A new cylinder head gasket was installed followed by the head. Having a new cross hatch honed on the cylinder walls, running-in the rings seemed like a good idea. Power to turn over the engine was provided by a 1930s 3HP LeRoi power unit.
Note: The new head gasket figures prominently in unplanned project development. More on that to come.

I always enjoy watching your stuff! We have a 5 hp Ottawa saw, counterweight like this one, waiting its turn, so these videos are helpful. Wood is very dry, but structurally OK. Harbor Fright has a rolling gardening seat, a small cart with 4 largish tires for outside use, with a tractor pan seat on an adjustable post and a tool tray underneath. "Rolling Work Seat with Tool Tray", $69.99. We have one for shade tree engine work, it's a real back saver for us old guys. Needs brakes, rolls too easy, but stable.

I've got some nice Cypress ready to cut . It will take cooperating weather to do it since it will have to be done outside.
